Transportation management software:
DAT (originally Dial-A-Truck) Solutions has
created a transportation management system
(TMS) for entry-level freight brokers.
DAT Keypoint Ops is designed for brokers
who want a simple operations system that
places the most commonly used dispatch
functions on a single screen. Brokers can
enter information about the shipper and
freight, and dispatch a truck. From the same
screen, they can send a rate confirmation to
the carrier, confirm pickup and delivery, and
print and send an invoice to the shipper.
The amount of time needed to become
efficient using Keypoint Ops is a fraction of
the normal TMS setup time. The minimal
training required can be accomplished online
on a self-paced basis.
DAT Keypoint Ops is a Web application sold
on a monthly subscription basis, starting at
$100 for the first user and $35 per additional
user. DAT Keypoint Ops interfaces with all
major loadboards including DAT Power, as
well as DAT RateView for lane rates guidance.
When needed, customers can upgrade to
the full DAT Keypoint TMS, with integrated
operations and accounting functions, and
modules for imaging, EDI mileage, and more.

High-capacity forklifts: Toyota Industrial
Equipment has announced a major expansion to its high-capacity forklift line. Toyota
first introduced its “Toyota Heavy Duty,” or
“THD,” High-Capacity forklift product line in
2015, which included models with capacities
ranging up to 72,000 pounds. The company
has now added models with capacities of up
to 125,000 pounds.
The new units round out a line of high-capacity forklifts that have been popular with
industrial customers from lumber yards to
large ports, the manufacturer says. The latest
Toyota THD High-Capacity lift trucks can handle loads weighing from 80,000 pounds up
to 125,000 pounds and are designed to give
customers that move items like steel, pipe,
and precast concrete flexibility in material
handling.
Toyota’s new THD High-Capacity forklift models come standard with visibility-en-hancing cabs and a host of operator pro-ductivity-enhancing features, including arm-rest-mounted controls with a multifunction
LCD information display. Toyota’s THD High-Capacity forklifts are powered by Cummins
engines and are manufactured in the U.S.

Picking carts: National Cart has introduced a new series of e-commerce picking
carts. The carts are easily configurable to hold totes, bins, trays, and boxes in a
variety of combinations. They offer seamless distribution coverage from distribution
centers to truck to home, from a traditional store to customer pickup, and from a
traditional store to parcel delivery.
The e-commerce cart allows pickers to retrieve items of different sizes on the
same cart without making additional trips. Value-added options, including the addition of holders for tablets and scan guns, add to the carts’ productivity. (National
