Temperature verification system: For refrigerated haulers
who require independent verification of temperatures inside
trucks and trailers or immediate documentation for receivers,
Carrier Transicold has introduced the DataLink 2 recorder.
Suitable for both single-temperature and multitemperature applications, the DataLink 2 system uses up to three independent temperature sensors, providing an added layer of verification beyond
the refrigeration system’s built-in recording ability. An integral
thermal printer lets drivers quickly and easily produce numerical and
graphical trip reports for receivers. In addition, data can be downloaded into a personal computer for electronic logging.
Beyond its primary use as an independent temperature monitoring and reporting device, the DataLink 2 recorder provides additional advantages as a comprehensive analytical tool when connected
to a Carrier Transicold refrigeration unit’s control system. (Carrier

High-speed palletizer: Columbia Machine has introduced the
FL6200 high-speed palletizer, a floor-level unit that combines robotlike precision with the familiar simplicity and load build quality of a
conventional palletizing solution.
The FL6200 can palletize up to 120 cases per minute, depending
on layer pattern, and can manage standard and challenging products, including shallow unwrapped trays, shrink pads, and film-only
bundles.
One of the keys to the palletizer’s performance and flexibility
is the incorporation of servo technology. The FL6200 combines
high-speed technology with a contemporary, modular, and clean
design palletizer that is extremely user friendly. As with all Columbia
palletizers, the FL6200 is built with the highest priority on safety,
flexibility, and performance, the manufacturer says.
The company’s safety and guarding system provides “next
level protection.” On the FL6200, the standard package includes
Category 3, Performance Level D safety components as well as fully
integrated guarding, full-height light curtains, automatic four-point
hoist pins, a case infeed tunnel, and interlocked load building area
access doors.
The modular construction of the FL6200 increases flexibility by
allowing features to be incorporated initially or added as a modification later on. The addition of an integrated stretch wrapper helps
when load stability or space constraints are a challenge. A dual
infeed can be added to accommodate demand for increased line
speeds. (Columbia Machine, www.palletizing.com)
TMS software updates: InMotion Global Inc. says its Ascend TMS
transportation management software now comes with a host of
new features, including free carrier verification, driver qualification,
carrier onboarding, and fraud warning detection for carriers, freight
brokers, and freight shippers.
The newly included carrier verification and fraud warning detection features allow all participants in the freight movement process
to verify and qualify those involved. This allows for the mitigation of
fraud and minimizes cargo claims, the company says.
Carrier onboarding and verification is fully automated, and all
qualification data are pulled in real time. Ascend TMS users get the
benefit of the latest fraud alerts and warnings so they can be sure
they are loading only the safest and best drivers and carriers, the
company says. (InMotion Global Inc., www.InMotionGlobal.com)
