Pallet truck: TVH in the Americas, a provider of replacement parts and accessories for the material handling and
equipment industries, has introduced a new pallet truck. The
TSP6630 has a maximum capacity of 6,600 pounds and features extra-strong steel reinforcement rods, designed to hold
the heaviest of loads. This model also features a balanced top with reinforced fork
frame, casting steel pump rods for durability, and entry and exit fork rollers that
guarantee maximum stability for safely transporting goods. (TVH in the Americas,

Brokers post their load information online
though a Web-based portal, and truckers are
alerted via the app in real time. Every order
shows the load’s rate per mile and equipment type, and orders are sorted according
to the driver’s profile, so drivers get the best
possible matches for their truck. According to
the company, at any given time of year, more
than 250,000 available loads are live on the
app and are updated constantly. As soon as a
load is given out or past due, it is immediately
removed from the system, so truckers can be
assured the loads and information are current
and available.
Other features of the system include automated document generation for truckers
and brokers through a virtual dispatcher,
including order confirmation, bills of lading,
and proof of delivery, so neither party has
to create the necessary paperwork for their
transaction. The app provides load tracking
and uses the smartphone as a signing device.
In addition, like numerous Web-based sites
and apps, the app features a one- to five-star performance rating system for truckers,
brokers, and shippers, which can be helpful
for all parties as they decide with whom they
would like to work.
XYpper is available for download in the
Apple App Store and for Android devices on
Google Play. Truckers can test the service on
a free 15-day trial basis and subscribe for $25
per month, cancellable at any time. (XYpper

Safety light curtain: Sick, a manufacturer
of sensors, machine vision systems, encoders,
and automatic identification solutions for factory, logistics, and process automation, has
launched its deTec4 safety light curtain.
The deTec4 safety light curtains come
with protective heights of 300 millimeters
to 2,100 millimeters and an IP65, IP67, and
IP69K enclosure rating. They are ideal for use
in harsh environments, the company says.
The safety light curtains have variants for use
in explosion-hazard areas as well as environments that use coolants and lubricants.
The de Tec4 is able to differentiate between
people and materials thanks to two-sensor
muting integration. Through use of a muting
adapter, muting sensors can integrate directly
to the light curtain in the field, eliminating
the need to wire the muting sensors back to
the cabinet.
Using evaluation algorithms and reduced
resolution, the deTec4 will ignore small
objects like insects but trigger a machine
shutoff for larger ones. (Sick, www.sick.com)
