Supply chain visibility solutions: Software
provider Kewill has added further visibility
capabilities to its Kewill Move multimodal
transportation platform. The enhancements
will make it easier for supply chain businesses
to collaborate, creating a real-time flow of
critical shipment data and improving control
over core processes from order management
to financial performance analysis, according
to the company.
Kewill Move is a platform for managing
transportation, logistics, and trade compliance. The platform has been expanded to
incorporate dedicated visibility, event management, and business analysis solutions in
the form of Kewill Control Tower and Kewill
Dashboard.
The Kewill Control Tower solution offers
visibility and event management. It provides
a complete view of goods under shipment
globally. By exchanging information with
internal IT systems as well as with external
partners’ systems, it can provide full and
real-time visibility of critical shipment data.
Companies can also use the solution to map
their customers’ or brands’ standard operating procedures (SOPs). The solution can then
identify potential problems and issue alerts
when things deviate from those SOPs.
Kewill Dashboard is a supply chain business
analysis tool that combines and analyzes data
from multiple sources. It uses a range of visual
representations—such as charts, graphs, and
dials—to indicate operational efficiency and
analyze financial performance. This enables
organizations to clearly visualize potential
issues, such as scheduling delays. They can
also use the dashboard to track their own
and their supply chain partners’ performance
levels against agreed-upon service levels as
well as drill down into details about revenue
and costs. (Kewill, www.kewill.com)
2-D bar-code scanner: Denso
ADC has introduced the AT27Q-SB
handheld bar-code scanner. The
AT27Q-SB can scan 2-D bar codes,
such as the QR Code, as well as
1-D bar codes.
Bluetooth 2. 1 technology allows
the scanner to wirelessly communicate with mobile devices like smartphones
and tablets in addition to traditional PCs.
A new shutter aims to eliminate the effect
of camera shake, so that bar codes can
be scanned from any direction within 360
degrees. The AT27Q-SB uses Denso algorithms and an increased number of pixels
to enable trouble-free scanning of wide bar
codes. (Denso ADC, denso-adc.com)
Battery chargers: The new Hawker Lifetech MOD1 and Lifetech MOD1C are
modular high-frequency battery chargers that allow each individual power module
to operate independently. Even if one module stops working, the other modules
continue charging the battery.
In addition to providing an uninterrupted charge, the modules automatically
adjust to a battery’s charge cycle requirements and can adapt to a variety of battery
capacities.
The new chargers are also equipped with a self-diagnostics feature that alerts
operators to any possible failures. (Hawker, www.hawkerpowersource.com)
