Fast, accurate order fulfillment
The faster and more accurately a facility processes customer orders, the
higher customer satisfaction will be. This makes order picking one of
the most controlled logistics processes and one which greatly impacts
overall supply chain productivity. Vanderlande offers a full range of picking
solutions, including goods-to-person, zone, batch, as well as automated
case, tote and pallet picking systems to meet the demands and challenges
of any fulfillment operation.

Robotic pick-and-pack software: ABB
Robotics has introduced the RobotStudio
Picking PowerPac software suite, which
simplifies the design and programming of
complex robotic pick-and-pack systems. The
solution combines two ABB software technologies—RobotStudio and PickMaster 3—into
a single bundle.
The RobotStudio Picking PowerPac allows
users to design and test new picking systems
in a 3-D virtual world before building them in
the real world. The software also helps users
improve existing lines. Users start by recording current product flow with cameras and
then feed the data into the Picking PowerPac
for validation and optimization.
The Picking PowerPac software bundle
allows users to configure product conveyors,
pick-and-place locations, gripper functional-ity, and more. Once the picking cell configuration is complete, the software provides a
fully functional picking cell simulation with
robot performance information. The complete RobotStudio model is then ready to be
transferred directly to the robot controller for
cell operation. (ABB Robotics, www.abb.com/

Pantograph reach trucks: Mitsubishi
Caterpillar Forklift America (MCFA), the provider of Jungheinrich lift trucks and nar-row-aisle products in North America, has
introduced the Jungheinrich ETR 340–335d
series of pantograph reach trucks. The new
reach trucks have capacities ranging from
3,500 to 4,500 pounds. They also offer industry-leading lift speeds (up to 160 feet per
minute) and high capacity retention, enabling
loads to be staged at higher rack levels.
The new trucks allow operators to lift
loads up to 450 inches. These lift heights
are made possible by a design that features
Jungheinrich’s Pro Trac suspended articulating
drive axle, which evenly balances load weight
for improved stability during cornering and
when working at high lift heights. The reach
truck also features a rigid mast with cushioning at all mast stage transitions.
The ETR 340–335d series pantograph reach
trucks combine advanced AC motor technology and Jungheinrich vehicle software
that optimizes performance while minimizing
energy consumption.
A spacious operator compartment, multi-function control handle, and a feature-packed
programmable operator display panel all contribute to increased comfort and productivity. (Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift America/

Parts program for lift trucks: UniCarriers Americas Corp. has expanded its Dura-Lift parts program offerings to include competitively priced, quality aftermarket
parts to service most lift truck brands.
UniCarriers-affiliated dealers can now purchase service parts for nearly all forklift
makes that offer specifications that are similar to, or the same as, the original equipment manufacturer’s specifications. Items available through the program include
high-volume parts such as filters, starters, and radiators as well as accessories like
strobe and LED light packages. The expansion will give UniCarriers dealers greater
flexibility in providing aftermarket service. ( www.unicarriersamericas.com)
