Indoor and outdoor lift trucks: Kion
Group, the world’s second-largest manufacturer of forklifts, has moved into the North
American market. The company has introduced five new forklifts specifically designed
for the North American market—four from
Linde and one from its lower-priced entry-lev-el brand, Baoli.
The new models include the Linde Series
1347, an electric cushion-tire truck powered
by either a 36V or 48V battery. The Linde
Series 1219 and 1319 are two internal combustion counterbalanced torque converter
trucks. The 1219 is suited for outdoor applications, while the 1319 is designed for indoor
use. All three trucks feature load capacities
from 5,000 to 6,500 pounds. Finally, the Baoli
KBD series features a Tier 4 Final diesel engine
and load capacities of up to 7,000 pounds.

Gas-powered and electric lift trucks:
French equipment manufacturer Manitou
Group has expanded into the North American
market by introducing 14 internal combustion and electric industrial forklifts this year.
The company’s signature forklifts, the MI
20G/25G/30G/35G gas-powered units with
lifting capacities between 4,000 and 7,000
pounds, are now available to North American
customers.
With the industrial market moving toward
digitization and automated machine management, Manitou has developed the ME
315/316/318/320 three-wheel electric units,
which are similar to its MI gas-powered units.
These new models are suitable for loading
and unloading trucks as well as for use in
stores and in warehouses and DCs. Fitted
with a 48-volt battery, they come with capacities ranging from 2,976 pounds to 3,968
pounds. These forklifts are equipped with two
single wheels at the front and double wheels
at the rear, and are driven by two engines
positioned on the two front wheels.
Manitou has also launched the ME 418,
ME 420, and ME 425 C forklifts with lifting capacities from 2,976 pounds to 3,968
pounds. Featuring compact dimensions, these
new four-wheel electric models give users the
option of changing the battery through the
side of the vehicle.
In addition, the company introduced three
80-volt units, the ME 425/430/435 models,
with lifting capacities ranging from 4,982
pounds to 7,000 pounds. These models feature a new design with compact dimensions,
the company says. (Manitou Group, www.

Counterbalanced pedestrian stacker: Combilift, a manufacturer of four-way
forklifts, pedestrian stackers, and straddle carriers, has added a new counterbalanced pedestrian stacker to its product line. With a lift capacity of 1,850 pounds,
the new Combi-CS features a compact design that enables it to work in the smallest
operating aisles.
Equipped with a multiposition tiller arm, the model offers safe operation and
maximum visibility, the company says. (Combilift, www.combilift.com)
