Label printer: Weber Packaging Solutions
has added the Model LA-2050 to its print-er-applicator product line. According to
Weber, this system offers maximum performance in a compact footprint using a highly
efficient low-energy tamp-blow applicator for
contactless labeling and has a labeling accuracy of ±0.05 inches. The LA-2050 is designed
for small e-commerce fulfillment companies
and other operations looking to automate the
labeling process for the first time.
Featuring a variable stroke tamp and sensor, the LA-2050 provides automatic labeling
for products of different heights. Able to
apply up to 25 labels per minute, the system
can be used as part of an automated production line or as a standalone unit in a jig fixture.
The LA-2050 uses a Sato CLNX thermal-transfer label printer (203, 300, or 600
dpi) that can print thermal-transfer or direct
thermal labels as small as 1. 1 inch long by
1. 5 inches wide up to 4. 7 inches long by 6. 2
inches wide (ideal for 4- by 6-inch shipping
labels). The printer uses an eight-inch label
roll and up to 1,968-foot ribbons for longer
continuous operation between changes. The
printer works with a variety of programming
languages without requiring a change in
settings. (Weber Packaging Solutions, www.

Appliance truck: Magline Inc., a manufacturer of material handling equipment, has
launched an aluminum heavy-duty appliance
truck. While lighter than its steel equivalents,
the Magliner Appliance Truck moves heavy,
oversized loads more safely and easily, the
company says.
The new appliance truck features
a fourth-wheel attachment to support loads of up to 800 pounds in an
incline position. This attachment is easily
deployed and folded using an innovative handle release, allowing the user to
keep both hands securely on the truck
at all times.
The heavy-duty truck was designed
with the same modularity as Magline’s
popular two-wheeled hand trucks. With
various handle, nose, and wheel options
to choose from, users can customize a
unit to their individual needs. Optional
accessories include stair crawlers for
navigating stairs and curbs, and wings that
add an additional six inches of load support.
While referred to as an appliance truck, the
heavy-duty truck works in a multitude of
applications where large and heavy items
need to be moved, the manufacturer says.

Freight management service enhancements: Third-party logistics service provider AFN Logistics has launched two proprietary technology tools to drive value for
shippers and carriers through improved accuracy and enhanced service.
The company’s Suggested Booking Price (SBP) tool automates the freight quoting
process using a predictive cost model driven by advanced machine learning technology. The tool determines the suggested booking prices of shipments with significantly higher accuracy and consistency than other widely available tools, AFN says.
The other tool, AFNgine, helps coordinators more efficiently prioritize and track
shipments from pickup through delivery. (AFN Logistics, www.loadafn.com)
