Package-tracking app: Airspace Technologies, a technology-en-abled logistics company specializing in time-critical shipments, has
announced that its Driver Partner App is now available for download on the App Store and Google Play.
The Driver Partner App integrates with the Airspace Web-based
technology platform and prompts the driver through the entire
delivery process, allowing shippers to track package locations.
The platform provides shippers with true end-to-end tracking and
visibility, including airline status and estimated time of delivery.
Each time the package changes hands, the handoff is validated
by the mobile application and geotagged so shippers can view the
live location down to the vehicle it is traveling in at that exact
moment.
Airspace generates a unique ID for every piece in a shipment,
and the mobile application allows drivers to verify that every piece
in every order is accounted for at every step in the process. Drivers
also capture digital signatures when the package is picked up from
the customer and delivered.
The Airspace platform selects the best driver for an order based
on location, certification, and vehicle type. Once a driver is verified
to drive with Airspace, he or she can log into the Driver Partner
App. (Airspace Technologies, www.airspacetechnologies.com)
Inventory mobile app: Rootstock Software, a developer of cloud-based manufacturing, distribution, and supply chain solutions, has
released RootScan, an iOS-based mobile app for managing transactions related to inventory, production, shipping, fulfillment, and
labor on any Apple iOS mobile device. According to the company,
RootScan enables the automation of inventory, production, shipping, fulfillment, and labor transactions and delivers time and cost
savings that boost the operational efficiency and productivity of
Rootstock’s manufacturing and distribution customers.
The new RootScan offering features the ability to generate
stock overviews, execute location-to-location transfers, make
adjustments to inventory location, receive items into inventory,
and more. Bar-code scanning can be done using the native mobile
device camera or by using standard industry equipment to accommodate high-volume and rapid scanning.
RootScan is directly connected to Rootstock and requires no
integration or third-party middleware connection. (Rootstock

Dock safety module: APS Resource has released an upgraded version of its S. W.A. T. (Secondary Warning Alert Technology) module,
a device designed to protect loading dock personnel by visually
alerting workers to changes in dock status. The latest upgrade
includes an additional layer of protection for dock operations that
visually alerts workers to use caution anytime a restraint enters an
alarm or warning state.
The S.W.A.T. module is now compatible with the majority of
vehicle restraints in the field. APS Resource has also increased the
product’s flash rate to 60 flashes per minute (FPM) in order to raise
forklift drivers’ awareness of their surroundings and promote a
safer work environment. The S. W.A. T. module will work with most
incandescent, halogen, and LED dock lights.
Compact in design to minimize risk of damage, the S.W.A.T.
module easily mounts on a loading dock wall next to the vehicle
restraint control panel. (APS Resource, www.apsresource.com)
