Bar-code scanning app: Scandit, a developer of software-based mobile data capture
solutions for smartphones, tablets, wearables, drones, robots, and
other devices, has released
a new scanning application called Keyboard
Wedge for Android, iOS,
and Windows. Keyboard
Wedge enables companies
in the retail and logistics
sectors to add enterprise-grade bar-code
scanning to any application without any additional development or integration effort.
For companies that would like to add
camera-based bar-code scanning capabilities
to enable their internal enterprise resource
planning, warehouse management system,
and point-of-sale applications, integrating
a bar-code scanner software developer kit
or writing new code is often impractical,
time-consuming, and/or expensive, the company says. Keyboard Wedge was designed as
an alternative app-based solution, allowing
accessibility to Scandit’s smartphone/tablet
camera-based scanning engine without integration into existing apps.
Keyboard Wedge offers a customizable
scanning experience. Users can scan multiple
bar codes at once or only scan certain bar
codes. The application is remotely configu-rable for management of large deployments,
and distribution and scanner configuration
can be managed through any mobile device
management solution. (Scandit, www.scan-dit.com)
Load-tracking software: Truckstop.com, a
supply chain management solutions provider,
has given all of its ITS Dispatch customers
access to its Load Tracking freight-monitoring
software. The integration allows brokers and
shippers to easily integrate freight visibility
into their current dispatching process, according to the provider.
Integrating its Load Tracking software into
ITS Dispatch gives customers a way to easily
monitor freight movement so they can spend
more time making revenue-generating phone
calls, instead of time-consuming check calls,
the company says. Load Tracking is tied
directly into ITS Dispatch’s cloud-based TMS
(transportation management system) platform so users can add tracking as part of their
normal load distribution process. The software provides location updates every hour as
well as the ability to set up geo-fences around
pickup and dropoff locations. (Truckstop.

Engineered for use with Toshiba’s e-Studio multifunction printers, Elevate allows
end users to complete sophisticated multistep tasks with the touch of a button.
Automating frequently used functions, Toshiba’s customizable user interface
streamlines document workflow while significantly improving overall organizational
efficiency, the company says. The Elevate platform is available through authorized
Toshiba resellers. (Toshiba America Business Solutions, www.business.toshiba.com)
