Import/export tracking kit: DeltaTrak, a
cold chain management provider, has released
its new low-cost ColdTrak Import/Export
Traceability Kit. This full-service kit includes
the new FlashLink Real-Time In-Transit (RTL)
logger, the FlashLink PDF In-Transit logger,
and ThermoTrace TTI labels. With this solution, customers have real-time access to temperature history reports, import/export documents, and inspection certificates uploaded
into Cold Trak, the company says.
The RTL is a full-featured data logger
monitoring temperature, humidity, security
(light), and quality (shock). Information is
automatically uploaded to the cloud and
shared between shippers and receivers. The
stored data is also available for traceability,
audits, HACCP (hazard analysis critical control
point) documentation, insurance compliance,
and FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act)
compliance.
The ThermoTrace TTI labels included in
the kit provide a way for customers to track
possible temperature abuse at the pallet
level. Customers can download the free application to a smartphone or tablet and scan the
TTI bar-code label to instantly access information about shipments. (DeltaTrak, www.

Cycle-counting robot: Surgere, a specialist
in mobile asset visibility and control technology, has introduced a logistics robot produced
in partnership with Fetch Robotics. Known
as ROBi (Robotically Optimized and Balanced
Inventory), the new device was designed
to help automate cycle counts and improve
overall accuracy of on-hand inventory within
the automotive manufacturing and warehouse environments.
ROBi integrates RFID (radio-frequency identification) technology with Fetch Robotics’
mobile robot platform to autonomously capture RFID label information from all angles
and directions. Moving on programmable
routes, the integrated platform transfers asset
identification and location data to Surgere’s
cloud-based asset management system, validating and providing further evidence of
where tagged packaging, parts, tools, and
other assets are located within a facility.
ROBi’s data acquisition protocol accounts
for the height of stacked or racked product
above the floor, depth within shelving, and
the speed of robotic travel, thereby completely removing the need for manual counting
and searching. ROBi also provides a 3-D map
of the facility and part location as part of the
cycle count. (Surgere, www.surgere.com)
