Fulfillment network: One Network Enterprises has introduced
Global Logistics Gateway, a new solution that enables carriers,
freight forwarders, orchestrators, distributors, customs brokers,
and suppliers to execute the global fulfillment and transportation process from a single access point. The Gateway connects
with business networks for sales, procurement, freight, and
logistics services to create a ubiquitous “network of networks”
at global scale. This offering supports interoperability between
supply chain operating networks through open standards-based
authentication and public API-based process orchestration to any
buy/sell system or any transportation management system (TMS).
Using Gateway, shippers can provide a one-stop-shop for
customers, which enables them to post purchase, sales, or transport orders via a single system. It connects and transacts with
in-country and international carriers, freight forwarders, customs
brokers, last-mile operators, and other partners, which greatly
streamlines fulfillment and transportation functions.
Carriers and freight forwarders can use the solution to transact
with shippers to fulfill the transport demand and collaborate on
freight orders, schedule appointments, post capacity, and publish
the tracking events.
Buyers and suppliers can connect and transact with each
other and with logistics trading partners in operating fulfillment
and transport operations. The network will manage fulfillment
and delivery across multiple modes, support all combinations of
prepaid and collect legs, and Incoterms. Milestones and tracking
events are provided for all orders and shipments.
All trading partners onboard once, and the Gateway can
connect them to other popular TMS systems and buy and sell
applications such as ERP, procurement systems, and other business networks. In addition, businesses can benefit from One
Network’s unique Global Supply Demand Match Service that
optimizes inventory, service levels, and freight costs simultaneously. (One Network Enterprises, www.onenetwork.com)
Vertical drop lifter: Designed
for the automotive industry
with redundant safety systems
and multiple belts, Handling
Specialty Manufacturing’s
mast-style belt lift was engineered to transfer an automotive chassis from one fixed-height conveyor to another
fixed-height conveyor system
to continue its path through
the factory.
Designed to reduce deflection, ensure level and accurate positioning, and support cantilevered loads, the belt lift allows for stable elevation changes when
raising or lowering a load. The mast structure supports the lift
carriage, while the drive train employs a belt equalization system
that’s operated by an electromechanical motor with lock-position
actuators. The vertical drop lifter also offers an OSHA-compliant
upper-level personnel access platform and floor-mounted devices
for ease of access during planned maintenance.
Although it was designed for automotive applications, this
mast-style belt lift can be easily applied to other industries, the
company says. (Handling Specialty Manufacturing, www.han-dling.com)
LED worklights: TVH in the Americas
has added two new LED worklights to
its inventory: the SYLED1500 and
SYLED2500. The lights can be used in
a variety of applications, including material handling.
The 1500 and 2500 series are both equipped with 12-24 volts,
die-cast aluminum housing, polycarbonate lenses, stainless steel
mounting hardware, and spot or flood beam patterns. According
to the company, these lights work more than 30,000 hours and
come with reverse polarity protection and four certifications,
including CE, RoHS, IP67, and E-Mark. The 1500 series features
10 LEDs and 1500 lumens ( 25 watts), while the 2500 series lights
feature 15 LEDs and 2500 lumens ( 40 watts) for optimum visibility. (TVH in the Americas, www.tvh.com)
Eco-friendly refrigerant: Carrier Transicold now offers a
new-generation refrigerant, R-452A, as an alternative for use
in its truck and trailer refrigeration systems. The Environmental
Protection Agency has approved the refrigerant for transport
refrigeration applications.
Developed by the refrigerant manufacturing industry to reduce
environmental impact, R-452A has a global warming potential
(GWP) that is almost half that of R-404A, the hydrofluorocarbon
(HFC) refrigerant used in most land-based transport refrigeration
applications, Carrier Transicold says.
R-452A is a refrigerant blend with a low-GWP hydrofluoroole-fin (HFO) as one of its key components. (Carrier Transicold, www.
