With this acquisition Sika expands its
technology and market know-how and
builds up a market position in
polyurethane liquid membranes for roofing. In addition to liquid membranes,
Iotech formulates produces and supplies
hygienic wall coatings. This product
range contributes to Sika’s market
approach in clean room applications, e.g.
for the food industry.
The liquid plastics division manufac-
tures in a state-of-the art production
facility in Middletown, CT. Sika will integrate liquid plastics into its construction
products division.
Additionally, through its acquisition of
Iotech, Sika has also acquired Incorez, a
Connecticut-based manufacturer of specialized, high performance resins and
polymers for the coatings and sealants
industry. The Incorez product range has
been exported across the world and
includes waterborne polyurethane dispersions, waterborne polyurethane and
acrylic hybrid dispersions, polyurethane
prepolymers, waterborne epoxy curing
agents and oxazolidines.
The last five years have seen tremendous growth for Incorez, with several
new additions to the product portfolio
including a range of NMP-free polyurethane dispersions, waterborne poly-
urethane and acrylic hybrid dispersions,
and a water-based UV-curable polyurethane dispersion.
EMPILS EXTENDS PORTFOLIO
Russian paint manufactuer Empils has
added new product categories—sealing
foams and sealants—to its product
range through a partnership with
Slovenia-based TKK Srpenica. The new
products are designed both for professionals installing windows, doors, bathroom and lavatory equipment and for
DIY consumers. TKK Srpenica has been
manufacturing sealing materials for
more than 60 years. TKK products are
manufactured in compliance with all
European standards. The distribution
network and sales team of Empils will
be used for promotion of TKK products
