Dow introduces Ecosurf EH surfactant
The Dow Chemical Company has
added three new surfactants to the
Ecosurf brand of surfactants. Ecosurf
EH- 3, 6 and 9 surfactants are a new
generation of high performance, readily
biodegradable surfactants. They are
designed for use in paint and coatings,
inks, textile processing and agriculture
chemicals. Ecosurf EH surfactants
have an excellent environmental profile, are biodegradable with low aquatic toxicity and meet the criteria for the
U.S. EPA’s Design for the Environment
Surfactant Screen, according to the
company. More info: The Dow Chemical

SARTOMER OFFERS THREE
POLYESTER ACRYLATE OLIGOMERS
Sartomer Company has introduced
CN2261LV, CN2264 and CN2282 acrylate oligomers with good cure rates
and abrasion resistance. CN2261LV
was developed for UV-curable wood
coating applications, where hardness
and abrasion resistance are required.
CN2264 offers increased flexibility
while maintaining hardness, abrasion
resistance and an excellent cure rate,
according to the company. It is ideal
for flexographic and screen inks as
well as wood, floor and paper coatings.
CN2282 is a tetrafunctional polyester
acrylate oligomer that maintains good
flexibility, even with fast cure rates. It is
designed for use in coatings, inks and
adhesives where toughness and flexibility are desired. More info: Sartomer

VERTEC BIOSOLVENTS
INTRODUCES ELSOL
Vertec Biosolvents, Inc., a manufacturer of custom blends of biosolvents
based primarily on ethyl lactate, fatty
acid methyl esters, d-limonene and
ethanol, has introduced the Elsol
product line. Elsol is a line of patent
pending products designed to directly
replace petroleum solvents with sustainable, bio-based, HAPs free, carbon
neutral solvents that are both
employee and environmentally friendly. Elsol blends a 20%-30% increase in
efficiency over petroleum solvents,
making them ideal for formulation of
both low and higher solids products,
according to the company. Elsol products are biobased replacements for hazardous petroleum-based solvents, made
from green, carbon neutral, sustainable
biodegradable chemistry. More info:

FISCHER TECHNOLOGY OFFERS
COATINGS THICKNESS GAUGES
Fischer Technology offers a complete
range of hand held coating thickness
gauges suitable for measurements of
paint, powder coating, plating and
anodize. These gauges measure over
ferrous, non-ferrous or both ferrous
and non-ferrous substrates. The FMP
series is the most recent addition to
the Fischer product line. The new
instruments are the Dualscope
FMP20, Deltascope FMP30, Iso-Scope
FMP30, Dualscope FMP40 and
Dualscope FMP100 coating thickness
gauges. These easy to use and versatile instruments offer a large and
bright graphic display with an
extremely durable shock resistant casing, according to the company. A large
selection of probes are interchangeable for the new FMP Series yielding
accuracy and a wide measurement
range. In addition to the FMP series,
Fischer offers the MP0R series which
has two large displays, automatic substrate recognition. More info: Fischer

CYTEC RELEASES RESINS FOR
REFINISHING AND SPOT REPAIR
Cytec Industries has launched Ebecryl
curing resins 8412, 8501 and 8309.
This family of resins is designed for
low energy curable applications such
as automotive end of line spot repair.
These flexible and durable resins can
also be used in flexible filled coatings
on substrates ranging from metal to
metallized plastics. More info: Cytec

ROSS INTRODUCES SKID MOUNTED
STATIC MIXING SYSTEMS
Charles Ross and Son now offers complete skid mounted static mixing systems. The available mixer designs
include the LPD, a low-pressure model
typically used for low viscosity turbulent flow mixing of fluids and for gas-liquid mixing. This design is offered in
many materials of construction and to
48 inches diameter. These mixers are
easily customized to include special
feed nozzles and injectors for major
and minor product streams. The second design, the ISG, includes specially
machined elements with passageways
that guarantee the mixing of any
pumpable material. After passing
through ten elements the ISG will
layer materials over 2,000,000 times
to provide a microscopically layered
mixture. ISG elements are stackable
in any quantity to provide mixing
quality as needed in the process. The
ISG is supplied in a range of cast or
machined materials to suit the application through 12 inches diameter.
