Keeping track: Avery Dennison unveils its latest ultra-high-fre-quency RFID inlay, the AD-232. The inlay is designed for item-level
tracking of assets like apparel in applications where close proximity
or stacking of goods is required. The developer says the inlay is also
suitable for use on difficult-to-tag items, including denim apparel.
Using NXP Semiconductors’ latest EPC Gen 2 integrated circuit, the G2iL, the AD-232 inlay provides global performance in
the 860-960 MHz UHF band. The AD-232 has an antenna footprint of 70 mm by 14. 5 mm and fits nicely into a 3-inch-wide
RFID label. (Avery Dennison, www.rfid.averydennison.com)
Lost and found: Transport Security now offers the Enforcer Geo
F1 Low-Cost Trailer and Tractor Covert GPS Tracking Solution.
The solution is designed for emergency situations, such as when
a vehicle or trailer is lost or stolen.
The solution’s Enforcer Tracks application allows users to monitor the location and movement of assets both covertly and reli-ably from an online PC. It collects real-time location and sensor
data and presents it live via a secure Web browser. There are no
external antennas, and the unit can be hidden inside trailer walls
and tractor dashboards.
The company’s Tracking Bundle plan has no monthly invoice
charges unless used. The unit is always on and ready to track but
does not report location unless manually “pinged.” In addition
to the bundled ready-to-track service, optional daily and weekly
reporting plans are available. (Transport Security Inc., www.trans-portsecurity.com)
