Battery charger: Hawker has introduced
a new modular version of its LifePlus
high-frequency charger.
The new LifePlus Mod3 modular charger represents Hawker’s latest innovation in high-frequency switch-mode ionic
smart chargers. According to Hawker,
the LifePlus Mod3 chargers provide multiple charge profiles, peak efficiency,
and nonstop power, while also reducing
charging costs.
The modular design of the Hawker
LifePlus Mod3 charger line allows each
individual power module to operate independently. Even if one module stops
working, the other modules continue charging the battery. Since
each module is a standalone unit, this eliminates the risk of catastrophic failures and downtime, according to Hawker.
Another benefit of the modular charger design is scalability.
The three-bay and six-bay LifePlus Mod3 charger cabinets allow
for modules to be added or removed in response to changing
power needs.
LifePlus Mod3 chargers provide energy savings, plug-and-play
flexibility, advanced data management, opportunity charging,
and an extended battery warranty, according to Hawker. The
LifePlus Mod3 charger line offers customers a choice of five
different charge profile options: ionic, opportunity, cold storage,
Envirolink, and TPPL.
The new chargers are equipped with a seven-inch-wide multicolor display screen that changes color according to the battery
status. (Hawker, www.hawkerpowersource.com)
Printing and labeling solutions: Loftware Inc., a supplier of
enterprise labeling solutions, has released Loftware Print Server
(LPS) 10. 2. 1, Loftware Label Manager (LLM) 10. 2. 1, Loftware
Connector for Oracle 4. 1, and Loftware Universal Connector
4. 1. These releases offer several new enhancements to business
rules capabilities, improved character-level formatting (CLF), and
support for Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2.
With Loftware Connector for Oracle 4. 1 and Loftware Universal
Connector 4. 1, users can now import and export databases and
business rules to a local client. In addition, the business-rule functionality is now able to execute “unless” logic, which allows the
labeling solutions to handle more complex and variable labeling
needs.
The LPS 10. 2. 1 and LLM 10. 2. 1 releases extend the solutions’
CLF capabilities. Users can now change a variety of attributes
such as bold, italic, underline, superscript, subscript, font, font
size, color, text direction, and line breaks on any character or
word in a text field. To further assist customers in addressing
evolving regulations, LPS 10. 2 and LLM 10. 2 also now offer the
nine pictograms required to address compliance issues from the
Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of
Chemicals (GHS). (Loftware, loftware.com)
Lift tables: Battery Handling Systems Inc. (BHS) has introduced
several series of lift tables in mobile and stationary models with
powered and manual lifting mechanisms. Lift tables are used to
improve ergonomics in a warehouse, assembly, or other production application. They are intended to reduce physical strain
on workers caused by repeated bending, lifting, pulling, and
turning. The BHS lift table series were introduced to complement
BHS’s current warehouse equipment offerings.
BHS designed its lift tables so that they are easy to maintain
and service, and so that all components are easily replaceable.
The company is continuing to research and develop lift table
models for future release and can customize current offerings.
BHS mobile lift tables come in powered (PMLT), manual
(MMLT), and self-leveling (SMLT) models. The various models of
mobile lift tables are capable of handling loads of up to 1,200
pounds and can raise a load as high as 79 inches. Mobile lift
tables allow users to place assistance exactly where it is needed
at any time. The stationary scissor lift tables (SLT) can handle
loads as heavy as 6,000 pounds and reach a maximum height of
42 inches. They are designed to be integrated into a production
line and have a variety of accessories to aid in material handling.

Labeling system: Weber Packaging
Solutions has introduced the new
Model 114, a labeling system capable of applying labels to two sides
of a product simultaneously.
The Weber 114 is a self-contained unit that features one or
two Alpha Compact label applicators
mounted on a sturdy, fully adjustable base. The 114 is designed for
applying pressure-sensitive labels on
straight-wall containers and has a label
placement accuracy of ±0.03 inches, making it as precise as
similar labeling systems used in larger-scale operations. Labels up
to six inches high and 12 inches long can be applied to products
in a variety of sizes by using the system’s adjustable guide rails.
Products are delivered to the applicator via a 7.75-inch-wide,
45-inch-long conveyor, which permits item transfers at both the
entry and discharge ends. A top hold-down belt secures the
products right before the label is applied, ensuring that the items
do not shift.
During application, labels are peeled away from the liner
and securely affixed to products through the use of a wipe-on
applicator. The Weber 114 can also be configured with a second
Alpha Compact applicator, enabling it to label two sides of a
product at the same time.
The Weber 114 can handle up to 25 products per minute,
making it a cost-effective solution for low-volume two-sided
labeling, such as square-sided beverage containers that have
unique front and back labels. (Weber Packaging Solutions Inc.,
