Omnichannel fulfillment software:
Symphony EYC, a supplier of software and
services to retailers, manufacturers, and
wholesalers, has launched the latest module
in its omnichannel fulfillment and supply
chain optimization suite. G.O.L.D. Allocation
enables retailers to plan and manage the
distribution and allocation of products for
seasons, collections, promotions, and special
events (for example, store reformatting, new
store openings, and clearances). The suite is
provided as part of Symphony EYC’s unified
retail platform.
For general grocery, general merchandise,
and household and other nonfood products,
as well as long leadtime imports, G.O.L.D.
Allocation provides centralized planning and
management of product assortment and
allocation to stores. The products can be
grouped or typed over defined periods for
defined sales events. Stores are able to
review and adjust their commitments for later
authorization.
The allocation methods can leverage
parameterized metrics and weighting factors,
such as key product and store behavior patterns like historical sales. Multiple readjustments can be taken into account to refine the
allocations and allow for incidents such as late
or shorted supplier deliveries or moving dates.
G.O.L.D. Allocation can manage push, just-in-time, and exceptional (for example, substitution) allocation flows, ensuring the efficient
throughput of goods from suppliers to DCs
to stores.
As part of Symphony EYC’s omnichannel
fulfillment and supply chain optimization
suite, G.O.L.D. Allocation can be combined
with G.O.L.D. Warehouse Replenishment for
extended replenishment and supply chain
optimization. (Symphony EYC, eyc.com)
Vehicle-mounted computer: The Thor
CV31 is Honeywell’s most compact vehi-cle-mount computer. The CV31 is designed
for forklift use and combines a high-performance dual-core 1. 5 GHz CPU with a small
footprint. As a result, it can present workers
with critical workflow information but is
never in the way.
The CV31 is a multimodal data capture
device and can handle complex voice-,
screen-, and scan-intensive applications.
It is compatible with Intermec CV30
mounts, scanners, keyboards, and accessories
and can easily be paired with Vocollect SRX2
headsets. It has an optional touchscreen
defroster for use in cold storage operations.

Supply chain design software: LLamasoft Inc., a developer of supply chain design
software, is introducing SupplyChainGuru.com, the industry’s first software-as-a-service (SaaS) application solely focused on the supply chain design business
process. According to the company, SupplyChainGuru.com enables companies to
migrate their supply chain models into the cloud to create a more agile planning
process without increasing IT infrastructure expenses.
SupplyChainGuru.com allows companies to run up to 100 “what if” scenarios
simultaneously and more rapidly solve large models. (LLamasoft, www.llamasoft.
