Wi-Fi access-point enclosure: Ventev Wireless Infrastructure,
a unit of TESSCO Technologies Inc., has introduced an access-point enclosure that can ensure crucial Wi-Fi/WLAN connectivity
in freezer rooms.
Cold environments
present unique network challenges
for Wi-Fi coverage.
Sensitive indoor wireless access points
must be protected
from cold, condensation, and frost. Thick
walls and heavy insulation make wiring
for AC power expensive and time-consuming.
The Ventev Freezer Room Enclosure is a
simple solution for these challenges. The heated enclosure is designed specifically for use
in continuously cold environments. A single PoE (Power over
Ethernet) cable powers both the access point and the heater.
Since no AC is needed, installation is easier and less expensive.
The enclosure features latch locks, a clear door, surge protectors, and an optional integrated or external antenna to increase
network coverage. (Ventev Wireless Infrastructure, www.ventev.

Storage system: Warehouse automation technology provider
Power Automation Systems (PAS) has released an automated storage and retrieval system designed for the mid-market.
PowerStor 4000, the latest in the company’s PowerStor line, is
tailored to meet the needs of small to medium-sized companies.
This adaptive, fully automated system can be designed to fit a
warehouse’s existing space, according to PAS.
PAS says that implementing PowerStor 4000 can more than
double a company’s storage capacity without increasing its existing footprint. It will also allow companies to improve inventory
control and reduce product damage.
The PowerStor 4000 is designed to grow as the business does.
If a company’s storage requirements are expanding, PAS’s adaptive modular technology makes it simple to adjust and reposition
the system, the manufacturer says. If throughput demands are
increasing, the user-friendly design allows additional retrieval
bots to be installed. (Power Automation Systems, www.power-automationsystems.com)
Vehicle restraint: Rite-Hite’s Dok-Lok SHR-5000 uses a patented
“shadow hook” design to secure traditional trailers as well as
intermodal container chassis and trailers with rear-impact guard
obstructions. The universal design of the Dok-Lok SHR-5000 is
intended to meet the evolving needs of loading dock operators
and the rise in intermodal container traffic.
In addition to having the most substantial wrap on rear-impact
guards and the widest vertical engagement range (nine to 30
inches), the Dok-Lok SHR-5000 incorporates a shadow hook that
provides an additional layer of safety when dealing with rear-impact guard obstructions.
When the Dok-Lok SHR-5000 is activated, the hook attempts
to wrap around the rear-impact guard. If the hook comes in contact with a rear-impact guard obstruction, the shadow hook pivots to secure the trailer in place. If the trailer moves, the shadow
hook locks in the safety stop, which helps prevent a wide variety
of trailer separation accidents.
In addition to safely securing trailers and intermodal containers, the Dok-Lok SHR-5000 is a physical theft deterrent and can
interface directly with security systems to help prevent trailer
theft, which is a growing issue.
The Dok-Lok SHR-5000 is engineered to stand up to the harsh
conditions of a loading dock environment. Its solid steel construction can withstand repeated contact with trailers backing
in and out of the loading dock area, while powerful extension
springs provide superior upward force against rear-impact guards
to keep a trailer secure during loading—even with air-ride trailers. The Dok-Lok SHR-5000 features a corrosion-resistant finish
and an IP- 66 rated motor to prevent water and dust infiltration.
Finally, the unit stores above ground to stay clear of ice, snow,
and other debris. (Rite-Hite, www.ritehite.com)
Dock lift: Advance Lifts has introduced the new 3400 series of
dock lifts. These lifts will replace the company’s 4100 series.
The 3400 series are medium-sized “disappearing” dock lifts,
which are suitable for pallet jacks, powered pallet jacks, straddle
stackers, and small fork trucks.
The lifts can handle a capacity of 12,000 pounds with a platform size of six by 10 feet. The lowered height of the lift is 15
inches. (Advance Lifts, www.advancelifts.com)
