Clear containers: Akro-Mils has expanded
its line of industrial attached-lid containers
with the addition of a new clear option for
three models, the 39085 ( 21. 5 inches long by
15 inches wide by 9 inches high), the 39120
( 21. 5 inches long by 15 inches wide by 12. 5
inches high), and the 39170 ( 21. 5 inches long
by 15 inches wide by 17 inches high).
Clear industrial attached-lid containers
keep contents highly visible and allow for
quick identification of parts and supplies.
Injection-molded from industrial-grade
polymers, Akro-Mils’ clear industrial attached-lid containers are reusable plastic storage containers for use in shipping, distribution, order
picking, and storage applications. Attached
lids snap securely closed to protect contents
from dust or damage. Reinforced steel hinge
pins provide years of smooth lid operation.
These containers stack for maximized storage
and nest when empty. The new clear option
attached-lid containers are available in gray,
blue, green, and red. (Akro-Mils, www.akro-

Rugged mobile terminals: Cognex Corp.
has developed a new line of ruggedized
mobile terminals. The new MX-1000 series
of terminals offers manufacturers, logistics
companies, and others a new method for performing tasks such as inventory management.
The MX-1000 combines the ease-of-use, low
cost, and flexibility of off-the-shelf smartphones with a rugged handheld assembly
that holds both the phone and a specially
designed Cognex bar-code reader that outperforms competitors’ laser-based and camera-based systems, according to the company.
Cognex says it designed the MX-1000 after
detailed discussions with leading companies
that use mobile terminals and who were also
customers of Cognex’s machine vision products and bar-code readers. Those customers
were dissatisfied with their current mobile
terminals, which they described as proprietary, expensive closed systems that are both
difficult to build applications on and costly to
maintain. The initial versions offer Cognex’s
capability for reading both 1-D and 2-D bar
codes, but the hardware in each unit is a
complete Cognex vision engine that is capable of far more than just reading bar codes.

ETAaaS solution: Savi Technology has introduced its Estimated Time of Arrival-as-a-Service (ETAaaS) to deliver predictive and prescriptive supply chain analytics that
provide the most accurate ETA.
Through the combination of big data transportation analytics and machine
learning, ETAaaS will provide complete supply chain transparency with real-time
operational intelligence that provides accurate shipment ETA forecasts.
The service features real-time tracking and visibility that allows real-time shipment
location and adjusts ETA by considering historical patterns of disruption caused by
weather, port congestion, and other factors. (Savi Technology, www.savi.com)
