Packing slip/labeling system: Fox IV
Technologies has updated its TwinPrint automated packing slip/shipping label system. The
Mod6 version incorporates several new features that make using and maintaining the
TwinPrint even easier.
The Mod6 has a redesigned label path,
which eliminates a series of rollers, to provide
easier label loading and reduction of label
memory. This allows operators to quickly reload
labels for an overall reduction in downtime. The
TwinPrint Mod6 also features a simpler calibration method that enables calibration of both
the top and bottom print engine as well as an
improved air control system for faster cylinder
cycling times.
In addition to these external new features, Fox
IV has simplified the electronics and mechanics
for easier servicing and maintenance.
As with previous versions, the TwinPrint
Mod6 provides a cost-effective, efficient system
that prints both the shipping label and a covert
packing slip onto one label. This eliminates up
to 60 percent of label liner waste as well as the
additional costs of separate packing slips, plastic pouches, and the labor involved in preparing
the packing slip. The Mod6 is available for use
with standard TwinPrint labels, Duplexpackslip
labels, or NCR’s 2ST labels, for ribbonless
data-secure applications. (Fox IV Technologies

Inventory control solution: Accu-Dart, a
developer of integrated warehouse logistics
and supply chain management solutions, has
introduced its inventory control solution for
Android. According to the company, mobile
devices can now integrate with ERP systems in
real time, giving warehouse workers flexibility,
multitasking capacity, and language support.
The Android option will enable a greater
range of devices for manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers using radio-frequency scanners for inventory control in the warehouse
setting. The Android version has the same
functionality as the iOS version released last
year. Warehouses can now use both operating
systems in the same space.
Accu-Dart’s inventory control solution lets
warehouse staff work with devices they are
already familiar with, while also allowing for
multiple warehouse applications to be run from
the same devices to deliver flexibility and timeliness for customers and employees.
Accu-Dart integrates directly and in real time
with Sage 300 ERP and AccountMate software.
The solution also validates and enters data
directly into the ERP system for improved accuracy. (Accu-Dart, www.accu-dart.com)
Packaging application: The new MDR
High-Speed Electric Transfer (HCAT90) and
Diverter (HCAT30) modules from Hilmot give
users added flexibility in configuring their
packaging or tote handling applications by allowing 90-degree right turns and
30-degree diversions to their motorized drive-roller conveyor systems.
The HCAT90 Transfer is ideal for any application where a 90-degree right turn
is needed, such as sortation, distribution, or assembly. The HCAT30 Diverter
provides a 30-degree angle to move packages and totes to a separate line. Both
modules use three MDR conveyors to provide the rollers, belts, and lifting motion.
A key feature in both the HCAT90 Transfer and HCAT30 Diverter modules
is that they’re fully powered by 24-volt DC electricity for lower cost and quiet,
efficient operation. This design element removes the need to run tubing and
pneumatics from a compressor unit through the conveyor system to the modules.
No electric actuator or pneumatic cylinder is needed. (Hilmot, www.hilmot.com)
Shipment-tracking website: American Airlines Cargo has introduced enhanced
air waybill tracking functionalities on its website. Developed to increase visibility
into the entire shipping process and offer a more customized experience, the
enhanced tracking capabilities will improve shipment visibility for all customers
from booking to delivery, the airline says.
The enhanced features include live “at-a-glance” status updates via color-coded
progress bars; detailed flight, air waybill, and customs information; simple access
and navigation to shipping history; and added sorting and viewing capabilities.
Logged-in users can also sort their shipments by origin and destination, which
allows them to quickly simplify and consolidate the info displayed on their screens.
