KANSAI NEROLAC TO
OPEN NEW FACILITY
Kansai Nerolac Paints Limited,
India’s second largest paint manufacturer, is setting up its second
manufacturing facility in Tamil
Nadu at Hosur. The company has a
similar facility in Perungudi at
Chennai.
H.M. Bharuka, managing director,
Kansai Nerolac, said the new facility will commence operations in
October this year. It will manufacture decorative paints and paints
for general industrial products.
The 50-acre facility will be dedicated to the manufacture of water-based paints and will have an initial
capacity of 15,000 tons, and be
scaled up to 75,000 tons in three
phases.
“Investment in the first phase will be
Rs 90 crore and will be funded through

RPM ACQUIRES INTEREST
IN CHINESE LICENSEE
Carboline Company, a subsidiary of
RPM, has acquired a 49% interest in its
Chinese licensee, Carboline Dalian
Paint Production Co., Ltd. (Carboline
Dalian). The remaining 51% of the joint
venture will be owned by UniChemical
Company, a long-standing partner of
Carboline in another joint venture,
Carboline Korea Ltd.

H.B. FULLER OPENS
ASIA PACIFIC TECHNOLOGY CENTER
H.B. Fuller Company has opened a
new technical center in Shanghai
Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park, China. The
new lab, part of the company’s five-year strategic plan, is the company’s
first regional technical center in Asia
Pacific and will house research and
development, applications testing,
sales and regional leadership. The
new technical center will focus on
next-generation adhesive applications, helping the company promote
product development and localization
of initiatives in a variety of market
segments, ranging from insulating
trum protection against degradation,
discoloration and defacement caused
by mold and mildew, without adding
any potentially hazardous elements in
the mix. In addition to a green biocide,
Drylok Extreme is smoother than traditional latex and oil-based Drylok and
is a brighter white to meet the needs of
a different decorative pallet.
