LINDNER APPOINTED PRESIDENT OF
CLARIANT’S ASIA PACIFIC REGION
Peter Lindner has been appointed the
new president of Clariant’s Asia Pacific
operations. He takes over for Gary
Fielding, who has left the company to
pursue other opportunities. Previously,
Lindner was president of the former
special market region of Clariant,
which was comprised of Eastern
European and Middle East countries
such as Turkey, India and Pakistan. The
region has been integrated into the
Europe and Asia Pacific regions as a
result of Clariant’s regional restructuring that took effect at the start of 2009.
Lindner has been with Clariant for 40
years including posts in Europe,
Eastern Europe, Middle East, North
America and Asia.
NETZSCH PROMOTES HILL
TO ADVISORY ROLE
Netzsch Fine Particle Technology
LLC has appointed John Hill application and process advisor. In his new
position, Hill will work closely with
customers in a variety of industries
to solve their most difficult challenges in implementing nanotechnology. He will also provide process support for the regional sales team and
oversee the customer research and
development laboratory. Hill joined
Netzsch in 1996 and helped manage
the laboratory, where he conducted
feasibility and scalability trials for
the company’s equipment. He most
recently served as sales manager for
the Mid-Atlantic region.
STO CORP. NAMES THOMAS CFO
Sto Corp. has named Christopher M.
Thomas chief financial officer. Thomas
brings more than 13 years of domestic
and international experience in all
aspects of corporate finance and
accounting. Prior to joining Sto Corp.,
Thomas spent more than four years as
the vice president, finance and corporate controller for Republic National
Cabinet Corp.
CPS COLOR GROUP NAMES
NEW CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Tapio Engström has been appointed
both chief financial officer of CPS
Color Group Oy and a member of CPS
Color Group’s management team.
Engrström, who will be based at the
company’s headquarters in Vantaa,
Finland, has almost twenty years
experience in leading financial positions, including CFO of Vaisala Oyj
and CFO of Aspocomp Oyj.
BLACKMER APPOINTS
MADDEN MANAGING DIRECTOR
Blackmer has promoted Tom Madden to
the position of managing director.

as a member of its

team. By 1997, he
had progressed to
the position of

CYTEC WELCOMES NEW
CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD AND CEO
Cytec Industries Inc. welcomed
Shane Fleming as chairman of the
board, president and CEO effective
January 1st, 2009. As previously
announced in October, Cytec’s board
of directors elected Fleming to succeed David Lilley, who retired
December 31, 2008. Fleming joined
the Cytec predecessor company in
1983 in the mining chemicals group,
and over the years has taken positions of increasing responsibility in
the U.S., Australia and in the Asia
Pacific region. In 2003, Fleming took
global responsibility for Cytec’s specialty chemicals business and then in
2005, following the acquisition of the
UCB chemicals business, he relocated
to Brussels to assume full responsibility for the combined specialty
chemicals operations. He was
appointed president and chief operating officer in July of 2008. CW
