Dow Corning has introduced a family of silicone wetting agents for waterborne and radiation curable coatings, inks and overprint varnishes. The range of different functionalities and hydrophillcities available means formulators can choose exactly the right product for the formulation and substrate. These agents are effective in both waterborne and radiation curable formulations.

• E-Sperse RS Series Reactive Surfactants

These non-APE surfactants contain a functional group to
copolymerize into latexes during synthesis, or to cure into alkyd
coatings. This enables the preparation of high performing, very
water resistant coatings with excellent adhesion. RS-Series surfac-
tants are available in nonionic, sulfate, or phosphate ester forms.

• E-Sperse FT 600

This product is a nonionic, low-VOC surfactant that may be added to a latex, epoxy, or alkyd resin or coating to improve both its freeze/thaw stability and open time. By using this single additive to achieve two performance benefits, users may be able to reduce the total surfactant loading.

• TEGO Dispers 757W

TEGO Dispers 757W is a dispersing agent for waterborne industrial architechtural and wood coatings as well as printing inks. It offers excellent performance with anti-corrosive pigments and is effective at low concentrations. High pigment loading is possible with minima time and energy while milling.

• ALBIFLEX 296

ALBIFLEX 296 combines normally incompatible epoxy-resin and silicone in one homogenous eopolymer which exhibits the benefits of both of its constituent polymers. The epoxy component provides excellent adhesion, high mechanical strength, and good chemical resistance. The silicone component provides high elasticity, good thermal aging and excellent dielectric properties.

• TEGO Dispers 761 W

TEGO Dispers 761 W is designed specifically for waterborne printing inks and coatings for food packaging. This dispersant consists of raw materials compliant with the A list of Swiss Ordinance SR 817.023.21, Annex 6. TEGO Dispers 761 W significantly enhances properties like gloss and color strength in waterborne, binder-containing pigment dispersions.
