HISTORY
Our roots date back to 1969, when Ray Southwell started
Specialty Polymers with a goal to provide high quality,
innovative products to the coatings industry. Since then,
Specialty Polymers has grown to have multiple manufacturing
sites and more that 300 active products.

We are a key supplier of water-based emulsion polymers for a

MULTIPLE MANUFACTURING SITES
With manufacturing sites on both the west and east coast, Specialty
Polymers is ideally suited to meet each customer’s needs.
Our company’s Oregon facility has 60,000 square feet of production
space on five acres. In South Carolina, our production facility sits on
more than 25 acres with 83,000 square feet of production space.
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE
Our strength is the development of innovative polymers. For more
than 45 years, we have been on the forefront of polymer development.
Our highly skilled polymer and application chemists work in research
and development facilities located in Oregon and South Carolina.
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY PRODUCTS
Specialty Polymers’ innovative technology provides products that
meet the strictest environmental standards. Working directly with
many of our customers, we have developed emulsions that allow
them to replace a traditional coating with a more environmentally friendly version.
