Michelman Makes
Management Hire for Asia
Pacific
Michelman has hired Richard Yang as its
new regional sales manager, Asia-Pacific,
Chemical Specialties, and country manager, China.
Yang will be responsible for growth initiatives and strategic planning in this critical
region, and will direct the company’s Asia
Pacific sales team, including agents and dis-tributors. Yang will serve on Michelman’s
Chemical Specialties and Asia Pacific
Leadership teams, and will work closely
with the company’s regional and global marketing and technology teams. He will work
out of Michelman’s Shanghai offices.
Yang brings more than twenty years of
experience, most recently serving as regional
business manager, Asia Pacific, at Honeywell.
Bordeanu Joins Sika
Automotive USA as
Research Scientist
Nicolae Bordeanu has joined Sika Automotive
USA, transferring from Sika Automotive
Switzerland. Bordeanu has worked as a
project leader in research and development
with Sika since 2008. Before joining Sika,
he worked for three years as a project leader
and Post Doc at EMPA, a Federal test lab in
Duebendorf, Switzerland. Bordeanu will be
working as a research scientist with focus on
Sika Reinforcer and SikaBaffle technologies
during his three-year period in Madison
Heights, Michigan.
Evonik Promotes Edlinger
to Business Line Director,
Interface & Performance,
Americas
Christian Edlinger was promoted to
business line director, Interface and
Performance, in the Consumer Specialties
Unit of Evonik Corporation. He is responsible for developing and implement-ing business strategy for the Americas
region, and is a member of the global
management team for the Interface &
Performance Business Line.
The global Interface & Performance
Business Line offers specific expertise in:
release coatings for labels and hygiene applications; additives and processing aids for
the manufacture of plastics and rubber, fluff
pulp, tissue and textiles; wetting agents for
safeguarding the efficacy of plant protection
agents; as well as additives for building protection and metalworking fluids; and binders for adhesives and sealants.
Dow Names Jack Broodo
Vice President, Investor
Relations
The Dow Chemical Company has appointed Jack Broodo, currently president of
Dow Chemical Canada ULC and director
of feedstocks for the company’s North and
Latin America regions to vice president of
Investor Relations for the company.
Broodo succeeds Doug May, who will
become business president of the company’s Olefins and Aromatics business unit.
Broodo will report to William Weideman,
Dow’s executive vice president and chief
financial officer, and will work with May
to ensure a smooth transition.

Hires New Vice President
of Sales
Specialty Polymers Inc., has hired Brad
McPhee as the company’s new vice
president of sales and marketing. In his
new role as vice president of sales and
marketing, McPhee will be responsible
for overseeing the company’s sales staff
and marketing department. He will also
be in charge of generating new business
and developing new technology. With
McPhee’s hiring, longtime VP of sales
and marketing Steve Reiser will take on a
new role managing the company’s techni-
cal group and adhesive business. McPhee
worked for 28 years in sales management
and marketing roles with Rohm and
Haas and Dow Chemical and worked
as the business development director at
Organik Kimya US, Inc.
R.E. Carroll Inc. Hires New
Midwestern Technical Sales
Representative
R.E. Carroll Inc. has added Charleen
Heinke to its sales team. Heinke will be
responsible for the Midwestern sates
of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan,
Minnesota, Missouri and Wisconsin. She
has experience in technical sales, with
the majority of her career spent in the
paint and coatings industries. Heinke has
worked for companies such as Valspar,
AkzoNobel and Rohm and Haas.
She is currently the president of the
ChemPharma organization and participates in many local trade organizations.
Tom Parker Joins Rudd
Company
Rudd Company has appointed Tom Parker
vice president of sales. Parker brings more
than 15 years of executive sales management
experience in the coatings industry, with a
strong focus in the wood finishes segment in
both floor finishes and lacquer. Parker previously spent 13 years as the vice president of
sales and marketing with Lenmar Coatings,
a division of Benjamin Moore Company.
His 30 year overall career in coatings has
also included positions with The Glidden
Company/ICI, Minwax and more recently
NanoChem Technologies. CW
