Oh Savanna: Westfalia Technologies Inc. has
released the Savanna.NET Version 2.0
Warehouse Management System (WMS). This
new release incorporates additional features
while also improving the speed and stability of
the product. Savanna.NET Version 2.0 also has a
new, more robust user error-handling system,
and it supports both Oracle and SQL Server data-base platforms. It is capable of managing and
controlling both conventional and automated
warehousing systems.
Savanna.NET Version 2.0 has been designed
using Version 3. 5 of the Microsoft .NET
Framework; therefore, it can readily operate
under all customary enterprise resource planning
(ERP) systems. In addition, the open .NET architecture allows linkup of logistical data registration
and processing via Web surface-based (XML)
platforms.
Version 2.0’s modular design allows companies to choose only those functions they need
now, while leaving the option to add to and
expand their WMS as future needs dictate.
Savanna.NET Version 2.0 also supports the
Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP).
LDAP is a commonly used protocol that allows
Savanna.NET to query directory service information from an LDAP-configured server. It is used to
look up encryption certificates, pointers to printers, and other services on a network, and provides single sign-on where one password for a
user is shared between many services.

RFID advances: The new KSW eGO contactless
transponder merges long-distance RFID applications with proximity access and security. The
eGO product combines either ISO 15693 or ISO
14443 HF with ISO 18000-6C UHF functionality and enables high UHF performance even with
the addition of a contact smart card module to
the card.
Implementers of the eGO transponder will
benefit from the convenience of a single card-sized product, allowing access control systems to
be both simplified and upgraded to operate at
higher speeds and greater distances across a
range of applications. From traffic control in
gated areas to secure access to buildings and
contactless payment processes, these transponders are designed to simplify the access without
reducing the security. (KSW Microtec AG,

Bendi stretch: Landoll introduces a new LP gas-powered Bendi forklift truck. This
new LP truck meets the demands of narrow-aisle storage operations that require
precise control in tight aisles and high elevations. Though gas-fueled, it rides with an
“electric truck feel” that adds to driver confidence and performance, increasing productivity and efficiency. It allows operations over multiple shifts without the need for
battery changing stations or charging areas. The trucks are available in 4,000 pound
capacities with lift heights of up to 360 inches.
The new truck design also features an integrated demand hydrostatic drive, lift,
and steering system. It has on-demand fuel injection for increased fuel efficiency. An
on-dash display provides calibration and maintenance diagnostics. (Landoll Corp.,

Rolling with the top down: Rubbermaid Commercial Products (RCP),
which specializes in facility maintenance solutions, introduces a new mul-tifunctional Convertible Utility Cart. This versatile utility cart converts into a
platform truck to improve efficiency, productivity, and workplace safety.
Rubbermaid’s Convertible Utility Cart features a 400 pound capacity
as a utility cart and a 250 pound capacity as a platform truck. The cart’s
recessed top prevents items from falling during transport, and with its
extended lower deck, loading is made easier and less strenuous.
The cart also features non-marking swivel casters for increased maneuverability
and safety. Its fully round ergonomic handle reduces hand fatigue, and its flat configuration provides easy storage and transport. (Rubbermaid Commercial Products,
