Updated freight payment software: Businesses looking to
minimize parcel shipping expenses after the latest carrier rate
increases can use National Traffic Service’s new TrafficPro freight
auditing and payment software to keep a lid on costs.
National Traffic Service has refined TrafficPro, its audit software, for UPS and FedEx auditing as volume and rate complexity
for this sector continue to increase. According to the company,
TrafficPro gives companies that want to perform their parcel
audit and payment function in-house but don’t have the resources, a way to reap the benefits of auditing their UPS and FedEx
invoices without outsourcing the task.
TrafficPro automatically checks the account number liability,
on-time delivery, billing accuracy, and manifest match during a
parcel invoice audit. The software also automates the audit and
payment of inbound and outbound truckload, LTL, and airfreight
bills. (National Traffic Service, www.natraffic.com)
Reusable temperature loggers: Cold chain management, food
safety, and environmental monitoring solutions provider Delta Trak
has released its new FlashLink USB PDF reusable data loggers.
Temperature verification is an important part of effective
facility, equipment, and process management. DeltaTrak’s new
line of reusable loggers are cost-effective solutions for accurately
monitoring and recording temperature conditions in cold storage
warehouses, walk-in coolers, freezers, and processing, packing,
and staging areas. They provide documentation required for
HACCP, FDA, Food Safety Modernization Act, and other regulatory compliance. Four models are available: an internal sensor,
an external sharp probe, an external blunt probe, and an external
blunt probe that measures down to - 80 degrees C.
These reusable electronic temperature loggers contain on-board
software that generates PDF reports with temperature graphs,
tables, summary statistics, and alarm information. The logger
serial number is embedded in each report for complete traceability
to ensure the data is linked to the specific area it was monitoring.
The initial setup of FlashLink USB PDF reusable data loggers is
done with FlashPDF program manager software, allowing users
to configure parameters such as sample rate, start time, delay
start, alarm delay, and upper and lower alarm limits. Data is
downloaded with the onboard software and does not require
FlashPDF program manager.
The plug-and-play feature allows personnel on site to have
quick access to temperature history reports without needing
to use any software or special reading device, and without
involvement of their corporate IT department, the company says.

Economy lift truck: Hyster Co. has unveiled its new H50XT, a lift
truck designed to operate in a variety of applications at a lower
cost of acquisition and ownership.
The new XT truck series is offered in 4,000-, 5,000-, and
6,000-pound models. The series incorporates key design and
component elements of the premium Hyster Fortis truck series,
ensuring that the new trucks deliver dependability.
The new truck is available with a PSI 2.4L dual-fuel engine
featuring Hyster Variable Power Technology, which includes
selectable performance modes that allow customers to maximize
productivity or fuel economy to fit specific application requirements. (Hyster Co., www.hyster.com)
AGV wireless remote: AutoGuide, a provider of automated
guided vehicles (AGVs), has introduced a new wireless pendant
with remote route programing and diagnostics for its TV Series
of AGVs. The wireless pendant can be run on a tablet computer
giving users complete programming capability, remote access
to diagnostics and reports, and
the ability to drive the AGVs
without having to stand next to
the vehicles.
AutoGuide TV Series vehicles
follow programmable routes
along flexible magnetic-tape–guided paths. When paired with
the remote wireless pendant, routes can be set up and changed
quickly and effortlessly from any connected tablet computer.
The wireless pendant utilizes the industry standard Android
operating system, which allows for secure communication
between the vehicle and the tablet. The pendant display shows
multiple status readings, including alarms, path parameters,
battery voltage, last RFID tag read, and I/O status. (AutoGuide,

Battery charger software: Ametek Prestolite Power, a supplier
of industrial battery chargers and fleet management solutions,
has introduced Auto Range Curve, a software option for customers of its Eclipse II charger. Developed for conventional charging
applications that use a diverse set of batteries and cell counts, the
Auto Range Curve option has the ability to accept a minimum
and a maximum amp-hour capacity per cell size as needed by an
application, adding a level of convenience and efficiency when it
is most critical.
With the ability to leverage user-entered settings with Auto
Range Curve, the charger evaluates the battery’s response to
charge current and properly adjusts the curve throughout the
charge cycle. The charger also reduces or eliminates over- and
under-current conditions that are possible when exact battery
capacity is not available. With the addition of the user range and
Ametek Prestolite Power’s proprietary Auto Range Curve algorithm, the charger reduces maximum charging temperature and
returns to the proper specific gravity.
When a company has a large number of batteries and chargers
that change continually, such as a rental fleet, it becomes challenging to anticipate what size battery gets matched with what
charger in all applications, making it difficult to maximize charge
time and return to the proper specific gravity. With the Auto
Range Curve option, fleet managers will not have to keep “hard
setting” the charger for each application as frequently. (Ametek

“Street-turn” software: MatchBack Systems Inc., a software
solution to automate, plan, and communicate street-turns (the
matching of import containers and export bookings inland to
minimize miles driven), has launched MatchPodium to analyze
big data and create actionable information that provides systematic street-turn options to planners.
MatchPodium creates systematic street-turns and “what-if”
scenarios based on MatchBack Systems analytics. The company uses big data analytics to help create street-turns before and
as they happen to provide new street-turn options for all parties.
