manager for powder coating cross linkers
and additives at Ems-Chemie AG. He has
more than 25 years experience and a deep
knowledge of the powder coatings industry, having worked previously for both
powder coating and raw material manufacturers. He will be based in the UK.

Polymers Appoints New
Commercial Director
Scott Bader has recently appointed Alan
Kennedy as its new commercial director
for the Speciality Polymers division. This
division develops and manufactures innovative water-based and solventborne
standard and customized products for a
wide range of applications in the paints,
coatings, construction, textiles and
graphic arts markets.
The opportunity to move to Scott
Bader came about due to an internal promotion of the former Speciality Polymers
commercial director, John Kemp, who
has moved to Dubai and is now CEO of
Scott Bader Middle East and Africa.
Kennedy joins Scott Bader with a
wealth of strategic leadership experience in relevant end market sectors for
Scott Bader. Previously with INVISTA
Textiles, a division of Koch Industries,
he was Europeanb business director
for three years, having earlier spent 22
years with National Starch - Adhesives
Division in a variety of executive roles,
and then five years as managing director
of St Regis Paper.
Wear Named Senior
Account Manager for Horn
Coatings and Building
Materials
Horn has named Jeffrey M. Wear senior account manager, supporting Horn
Coatings and Building Materials. Wear
brings nearly 20 years of industry experience and will be managing the Arizona
territory for the business unit.
Prior to joining Horn, Wear held dual
responsibilities as an executive account
manager and product manager for P.T.
Hutchins Company. During the eight-
year tenure at his previous position, Wear
managed key principal relations and
successfully led the chemical and techni-
cal sales in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho,
Nevada, Utah and Oklahoma.
On the technical side, Wear managed
regulatory affairs and corporate safety for
Columbia Paint and Coatings Company
where he developed a compliance program recognized by the National Paint
and Coatings Association. He also served
a 10-year post as a chemist for the same
company. As a chemist, Wear developed
new products based on customer needs
and market trends, resulting in multimillion dollar annual sales and exceeding established sales objectives.
ACETO Appoints Restrepo
to Lead Performance
Chemicals
ACETO Corporation has appointed
Carlos Restrepo senior vice president,
Performance Chemicals. In this new role,
Restrepo will report directly to Salvatore
J. Guccione, CEO of ACETO. Restrepo
spent 18 years at International Specialty
Products (ISP), now part of Ashland Inc.,
where he held various positions of increasing responsibility. Most recently, he
served as vice president, Intermediates
and Solvents, leading the division’s global
business operations. Prior to this role,
Restrepo spent almost seven years as senior vice president and general manager,
Industrial Chemicals and Elastomers, responsible for all aspects of the business.
That role followed a four-year assignment in Germany as vice president,
global sales and marketing, Industrial
Chemicals. Earlier in his tenure at ISP,
Restrepo also directed chemical businesses in Mexico and Singapore. Prior to ISP,
he worked for ten years at Huntsman/
Texaco Chemical and Dow Chemical
in various sales, marketing and general
management roles.
E.W. Kaufmann Names New
VP of Sales
The E.W. Kaufmann Company, a member of the KODA Distribution Group,
has appointed Edmund F. (Ted) Burke
vice president of sales. Burke will manage the entire sales team and will also act
as the key contact interfacing with E.W.
Kaufmann’s principals.
Burke comes to Kaufmann
with 38 years of experience in
the chemical distribution industry. He previously worked
for Callahan Chemical Company where
he had held various positions including
sales, sales management, branch management and various executive positions.
He served as president of Callahan from
1994 until his retirement in September
of 2013. In addition to his experience
at Callahan, Burke is a former regional
president of the National Association
of Chemical Distributors, and a former
member of its National Board. He also
served for six years as a Trustee on the
Chemical Education Foundation.
Tom Rudeau will assume the position
of executive account manager reporting
directly to Burke. Rudeau will be responsible for all of E.W.Kaufmann’s major
accounts, inside sales program and will
continue to act in a liaison capacity with
key principals.
Magritek Adds to Sales and
Marketing Team
Magritek, a leading provider of compact NMR and MRI systems, announced further expansion in company
activities worldwide. With offices now
in the U.S., Germany and New Zealand,
the company has added two experienced leaders in instrumentation sales
and product marketing.
Silverio (Sal) Iacono is to head up
the company’s sales operations world-wide. Iacono has spent his career leading
sales and marketing teams for analytical
tools such as in his most recent role as
vice president and general manager of
PerkinElmer’s mass spectrometry business. He has neearly 25 years working in
the scientific community.
Joining him is another spectroscopy
veteran. John Paul Cerroti has worked
in analytical instrumentation for nearly
thirty years. With a background in materials science, Cerroti has held senior
sales and marketing roles for many of the
leading innovators in spectroscopy tools
including PerkinElmer, Renishaw and
Oxford Instruments. Cerroti is based at
the Magritek European headquarters in
