the price of its phosphate ester specialty
surfactants to the coatings industry by
five percent.
Ashland will also increase the price of
its Dextrol and Strodex phosphate ester
specialty surfactants to the coatings industry by five percent. The price increase
is being driven by escalating raw material
costs. The increases will enable Ashland
to continue investing in support of its
customers’ growth.
Evonik Increases Prices for
Degalan in NAFTA
Evonik Industries’ Coatings and Additives
Business Unit has increased prices for its
range of Degalan coating resins by up to
five percent in the NAFTA region. The increase will take effect October 1st.
Huber Announces Price
Increase for Industrial
Ground Calcium Carbonate
Huber Engineered Materials, a division
of J.M. Huber Corporation, announced
a price increase for its industrial calcium
carbonate products. The price increase
does not apply to Huber’s food and USP
calcium carbonate grades.
Prices will increase an average of four
to nine percent depending on product
grade and packaging.
“Huber continues to work diligently
to improve productivity and process-
ing efficiencies to minimize the impact
of rising costs for materials, packaging,
freight, logistics and regulatory compli-
ance,” said David Riley, vice President
and general manager of Huber’s
Industrial Calcium Carbonate business
unit. “Unfortunately, despite these ef-
forts, a price increase is necessary to
ensure the high level of product quality
and consistency and industry-leading
service our customers expect.”
Huber’s industrial calcium carbonate
products are used in a variety of consumer
and industrial applications, including ad-
hesives, caulks and sealants, paints and
coatings, drilling fluids, rubber, thermoset
composites, thermoplastics, swimming
pool aggregate and cultured marble.
BASF Increases Prices
for Polymer Dispersions,
Polymer Powders and Resins
BASF will increase prices in Europe, Africa
and Western Asia for straight acrylic and
acrylic styrene polymer dispersions by up
to € 80 per metric ton and for redispersible
acrylic powders and acrylic resins by up to
€120 per metric ton. The price increase is
necessary due to the significant rise in the
cost of raw materials. The products affected by the price increase are used as
polymers for construction chemicals and
fiber bonding.
Dianal America, Inc.
Increasing Resin Prices
Dianal America, Inc. is increasing the
prices on their resins by up to $0.13/
lb. This increase is driven by increasing
raw material and other costs, the company reported.

Announces Resin Price
Increase
Lucite International, Inc. announced a
price increase of up to five percent for all
Elvacite, Colacryl and Lucite solid bead
acrylic grades for shipments in North
America. The continuing pressure from
increasing prices in raw materials, packaging, and freight necessitates this action,
the company stated.
Unimin Specialty Minerals
Raises Prices for Functional
Fillers
Unimin Specialty Minerals Inc. will raise
prices for all MINEX, IMSIL, SNOBRITE
and MINBLOC brand functional filler.
Price increases will range from three to
six percent depending on grade.
The increase is necessary to offset rising
production costs and support necessary
continuing investments in production and
technical support, the company said.
BASF to Increase Kaolin
Prices Globally for
Industrial Applications
Effective immediately, or as contracts
allow, BASF will increase kaolin prices
globally for industrial applications. Prices
will be increased by up to seven percent,
with the amount of the increase dependent on the product.

for Neopentylglycol and
Trimethylolpropane
BASF is increasing the prices of the poly-alcohols neopentylglycol (NPG) and trimethylolpropane (TMP), with immediate
effect or as existing contracts permit by
85 €/mt in Europe.
Trimethylolpropane (TMP) is a high-quality intermediate that is used primarily for the production of alkyd resins,
which are used in paints and coatings.
It also serves to produce lubricants.
Neopentyl glycol (NPG) is a high-quality intermediate used, for example, to
produce polyester resins for coatings,
unsaturated polyester resins, lubricants
and plasticizers.

increase the price of its portfolio of intermediates and specialty solvents sold globally. Prices for 1, 4 Butanediol (BDO) and
