VertiCool energy-saving dock doors:
Aware of the importance of saving energy
at the loading dock,
many facilities have
invested in vertical-storing dock levelers.
However, the vertical
leveler alone does not prevent energy loss. To
create energy savings, it must be combined
with a high-quality loading dock door in order
to completely seal the building envelope.
Recognizing the need for an effective ener-gy-saving door that is not cost-prohibitive,
TKO Dock Doors created the VertiCool door,
which is specifically designed for use with vertical storing dock levelers.
The door features a 4-inch-thick R- 23 insulated panel for thermal protection. Its 48-inch
panel heights reduce the number of panel
joints by 50 percent. This not only improves
energy efficiency but also makes cleaning easier. Dual-compression side seals are mounted
to the door panel to prevent damage and
maintain effectiveness. A closed-cell foam
interior prevents moisture accumulation and
door damage. There is a heavy-duty polymer
thermal break track that runs along the full
height of the opening. The door also features
a UV-stabilized exterior painted aluminum
skin and has a dual overlapping header seal
and compression loop bottom seals to maintain a consistent seal around all sides of the
door. (TKO Dock Doors, www.tkodoors.com)
MinStar Double Deck Trailer System:
MinStar Transport, a dry van carrier, has
launched its new Double Deck Trailer
System. This new transportation capability
can help companies double the amount of
freight carried on a single truck while reducing shipping costs. Designed primarily for
non-stackable freight, the Double Deck Trailer
System has a second floor within the trailer,
which provides two levels of freight to be
securely hauled in one trailer. The system was
designed to maintain full trailer width and is
stowed neatly at the ceiling of the trailer.
Although the system was designed for hauling rolling stock, many shippers have been able
to double the amount of palletized non-stackable freight in a trailer load. Shippers who will
benefit the most are those that ship light non-stackable loads, such as rolling stock, electronics, paper products, and displays.
The second floor of the trailer also has the
ability to reach multiple heights at the same
time for hauling odd-sized loads. (MinStar

Wasp Inventory Control v6: Wasp Barcode Technologies has unveiled Wasp
Inventory Control v6. This updated version of the company’s inventory software features real-time visibility of stock levels, locations, and inventory access. The software
enables small and medium-sized businesses to instantly update inventory data using
an 802.11 b./g/n network. The software’s real-time inventory tracking allows businesses with multiple warehouse staff members or rapidly changing stock levels to
ensure that data is always current and accurate, according to the company. It also
eliminates the need to batch-transfer data each time that information is updated.
