Valu-Lift vertical lift conveyor: TKF’s Valu-Lift vertical lift is a light-duty continuous
lifting conveyor designed to handle cartons and other smooth-bottom unit loads
weighing up to 50 pounds. It has a modular construction and a platform that is
designed specifically for efficient high-speed operation, low maintenance, and
simplified and quick assembly. The platform design consists of simple, lightweight interlocking molded
polymer flights with steel connecting pins. It lifts at a maximum speed of 118 feet per
minute. Standard lifting
heights range from 8 to 14
feet with customized heights
available. The conveyor can
operate in up, down, or
reversible modes.
The Valu-Lift’s maximum unit load is 21 inches long, 16 inches
wide, and 22 inches high. The minimum unit load without special transitions is 10 inches long, 4 inches wide, 1. 5 inches high
with a minimum weight of 3 pounds. Standard safety features
include a 24-volt DC control; a current sensing relay, which
instantly shuts down the conveyor if it is overloaded; and totally
enclosed shroud-type tunnel guards. (TKF Inc., www.TKF.com)
Real-time cargo temperature monitoring: Transport
Security Inc., a cargo-security company, now provides real-time
temperature monitoring services as an add-on option to its tracking device, the Enforcer Geo F2 Tracker. This tracking technology
can be covertly placed within a package or product box to mitigate the risks associated with theft and spoilage.
In the event of a temperature exception outside of a specified
range, clients are notified immediately by the Enforcer tracking
application via text message and e-mail. The Geo F2 Tracker now
has the capability to monitor temperatures in ranges from - 4°F
to 140°F (- 20°C to 60°C).
Powered by Qualcomm inGeo and leveraging gpsOne assisted location-position technology, the Geo F2 operates in environments with no clear view of the sky, such as inside buildings
or embedded in high-value cargo. Small enough to hide in a
pill bottle, the Enforcer Geo F2 offers superior battery management with Qualcomm’s hibernation feature using low-duty
cycle technology. With this application, users can monitor the
location and movement of high-value assets reliably from an
online PC. Tracking units can be “pinged” or “polled” on
demand to determine their current location, or a user can view
historical positions over a specified period of time.
Notifications alert the user when a device deviates from a predetermined route, starts or stops moving, or reaches critical
battery or temperature levels. (Transport Security Inc.,
