aging waste may be eliminated at the outset
along with several labor-intensive steps in the
packaging process.
The semi-automatic Tab Wrapper Tornado
is operated by a single worker, who sets the
product on a platform within the wrapping
ring and uses the wireless remote control,
corded control, or foot pedal controller to
start and stop the machine. The Tab Wrapper
Tornado may also be continuously fed by
conveyor.
The orbital wrappers are available in a
choice of three standard models with 100-
inch, 80-inch, and 40-inch wrapping rings to
accommodate products as large as five feet
by five feet of infinite lengths. Custom models that can handle larger items are available
upon request.
Manufactured at the company’s Reading,
Pa., headquarters, the packaging machines
ship fully assembled and ready to plug in and
operate. (Tab Industries LLC, www.tabwrap-per.com)
Casters/wheels for high temps: Hamilton
Caster has introduced new casters and
wheels engineered to withstand the rigors
of high temperatures. These new products
are designed for use
in food manufacturing, autoclaves, product finish systems, and
other extreme-tem-perature environments. Temperature
capabilities begin at
250°F and top out at
750°F; wheel diameters span three inches
to 12 inches; and load capacities per caster
range from 260 pounds up to 9,000 pounds.
The company’s product release includes four
new wheel series and five new caster series,
totaling nearly 300 new standard models.
Wheel offerings include the new Ultratherm
with a high-performance elastic rubber tread.
Rated at 530 degrees, Ultratherm is the high-est-temperature-rated wheel on the market
today with a soft (75A) resilient tread for
quiet rolling that won’t mark floors. Hamilton
dual-mounts this new Ultratherm wheel in a
high-temp swivel or rigid caster. With four of
these wheels mounted to a cart, it’s possible
to move a 2,000-pound load in temperatures
of up to 570 degrees without creating noise
or damaging floors. Other non-metal high-temp wheels include the new Thermolast, a
30-percent glass-fiber-reinforced nylon 6/6,
and Duratherm, a durable composite material
with a high-gloss smooth finish. (Hamilton

Packaging machines: Tab Industries’ Wrapper Tornado orbital wrapping machines
can wrap plastic film 360 degrees around individual and odd-sized products to
permit labeling, storage, and transport without needing crates or containers, and
often without needing pallets. Suitable for tires, bagged powders, yard and garden
products, and other items, the Tab Wrapper Tornado packaging machines create
a smooth, clear surface for applying shipping labels and/or consumer labels with
brand imagery that allow the products to be quickly displayed for retail sale without
unpacking, uncrating, or depalletizing, while also adding weather-resistant protection for transport and placement outdoors. Containers, pallets, banding, and pack-
