Bar-code labeling solutions: ID Label Inc. has introduced three
new bar-code labeling solutions—Clean Release, Beam Renew,
and Tote Renew—that allow for the easy removal and repositioning of labels on racks, shelves, and totes to help companies
efficiently manage and track products.
ID Label’s Clean Release features an advanced adhesive that
adheres tightly to virtually any surface but is easily removable and
reusable without a hint of adhesive residue, the company says.
Labels can be removed and repositioned after days, months, or
even years of use without performance degradation.
Warehouse managers can use Clean Release on virtually any
surface as a temporary or permanent labeling solution. This
includes metal warehouse racks, plastic totes, bins, shelves, PVC
signs, forklifts, furniture, paper, wood, and glass, even in damp
or cool environments. A laminated top coating adds long-lasting
durability, which is ideal for rack locations and reusable totes,
according to the manufacturer.
Updated for 2017, ID Label’s Beam Renew is a laminated
base adhesive strip designed for warehouse racks and shelves.
Users simply apply bar-code labels to the Beam Renew strip. The
labels are easy to remove when product inventory and information changes, or when products are reslotted. There’s no need
to scrape away previously used labels or use solvents or harsh
cleaning solutions.
Beam Renew is available in multiple colors to match or contrast
with the customer’s environment, so it is also a cover-up solution
to refresh old beams without the time and expense of repainting.
Like Beam Renew, Tote Renew is a laminated base strip
designed specifically for reusable totes and containers. Bar-code
informational labels are easily applied and removed without the
need for scraping. Tote Renew is a durable and cost-effective
option, eliminating the need for plastic sleeves or placards to
house labels on totes and containers, the company says.
With its sturdy construction, Tote Renew helps extend the
useful life of containers and supports interchangeable tote
usage among a network of distribution centers. It also helps to
reduce scan errors that can occur when previously used bar-code
labels remain visible and partially exposed. (ID Label Inc., www.

Warehouse automation tool: Westfalia Technologies Inc. will
showcase its new fault recovery visualization tool, Firefly, during
ProMat 2017 in April.
Westfalia developed Firefly as part of its Savanna.NET WES
application suite. Firefly provides a three-dimensional (3-D),
augmented view of the warehouse, inventory, and automated
systems managed by Savanna.NET to help facilities run more efficiently and recover from automation faults more quickly. Utilizing
an interactive drag-and-drop user interface, Firefly translates user
screen interactions with back-end commands to greatly simplify
the fault recovery process.
In addition, Firefly runs on virtually any device, which gives
companies the ability to view and manage their inventories from
anywhere in the world, provided they have the authorization to
connect to their facility server and the Savanna.NET WES application. (Westfalia Technologies Inc., www.westfaliausa.com)
