HOMAX Popcorn Ceiling
Texture Desiged to Help
Contractors Increase
Productivity
The HOMAX brand of PPG Industries
provides the ideal solution for quick
and effective ceiling repair, a process
that is typically challenging and time-consuming. In order to help contractors
increase productivity, the Homax brand
offers PRO GRADE popcorn ceiling texture products with INVISIBLE REPAIR
capabilities that simplify popcorn ceiling
repair and provide a time-saving solution.
The advanced formula of Pro Grade
popcorn ceiling texture replicates commercial popcorn texture aggregates
typically found in homes, apartment
buildings, hospitals and other residential
and commercial structures. The product delivers Invisible Repair capabilities
that match existing textures so the new
texture blends seamlessly. As a result,
contractors can achieve a professional
texture match up to four times faster
than with traditional repair methods, and
with up to four times the coverage provided by traditional aerosols. Pro Grade
popcorn ceiling texture can be used for
popcorn ceiling repair projects, fixture removal repair, or to complete punch lists
or patches.
“One of the biggest concerns for the
contractor or property manager is match-
ing the existing ceiling texture without
sacrificing too much time on the job,”
said Mark Hembree, senior marketing
manager – adhesives, sealants and finish-
ing systems, PPG Architectural Coatings.
“Pro Grade popcorn ceiling texture
solves those problems by providing the
convenience of an aerosol and a profes-
sional, seamless match in less time, with
less mess and hassle than with traditional
gun and hopper methods.”
With a patented ergonomic grip
designed to provide comfort and control,
Pro Grade popcorn ceiling texture is easy
to feather into existing popcorn ceiling
textures and covers up to eight square
feet. In addition, the texture can be ready
to paint in 24 hours, if desired.
With packaging that allows for easy
storage, one container of Pro Grade popcorn ceiling texture can be used on multiple projects. After use, simply turn the
integrated safety lock to store and reuse
leftover texture for future jobs.
The Pro Grade popcorn ceiling texture
product is available in 14-ounce aerosol
cans at independent paint and home improvement dealers, PPG PAINTS stores
and home center locations nationwide.
The Homax Pro Grade family of aerosol
textures also includes Pro Grade orange
peel oil-based, Pro Grade orange peel
water-based and Pro Grade knockdown
aerosol wall texture products, which
also provide an efficient solution for
contractors.
Goodyear to Use AGILON
Performance Silica by
PPG to Improve Tire
Performance
PPG Industries has announced that
Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has
contracted to use AGILON performance
silica by PPG to increase the fuel efficiency of its tires. Goodyear will first use the
next-generation reinforcing filler developed by PPG in EFFICIENTGRIP tires,
a line of high-performance sport-utility-vehicle (SUV) tires debuting in Latin
America. Goodyear plans to incorporate
Agilonperformance silica into future
high-value-added tire launches in other
regions in 2015.
Anup Jain, PPG vice president, specialty coatings and materials, said PPG
is pleased to add Goodyear to the growing list of manufacturers incorporating
Agilonsilica-based solutions into tire and
other rubber compounds. “Goodyear is a
valued partner with a long history of setting trends in new product development
and the use of new technologies,” he explained. “We look forward to supporting
Goodyear in its tire advancement efforts with the use of Agilon performance
silica.”
Soothing Blues Create
Optimism in the Home,
According to Glidden Paint
by PPG
Puerto Rico home trend color forecasts
for 2015 feature soothing yet bold blues,
according to experts at GLIDDEN paint,
a brand of PPG Industries’ architectural
coatings business.
Societal and consumer trends in 2015
point to the idea of hope. Color experts
selected Caribbean Sea (56BG 23/355) as
the Glidden paint Color of the Year for
2015 due to its soothing, optimistic and
vibrant tones.
Misty Yeomans, color marketing
manager, PPG Architectural Coatings,
describes the medium blue as “
reminiscent of ocean waters and endless horizons,” similar to beautifully saturated
Caribbean seas and cloudless skies. With
hues reminiscent of mosaic stones, the
color has a noticeably bohemian and
laid-back coastal feel.
Yeomans recommended incorporating Caribbean Sea into the home on an
accent wall or on backs of bookcases. In
addition, using it on the wall at the end of
a hallway can create interest, reduce the
tunnel effect, and ultimately brighten up
a room. The vibrant hue pairs well with
complementing whites, neutrals, yellow
or golden hues, or with black and white
patterns for a modern and fresh look,
according to Yeomans. Complementary
colors can be incorporated in the form
of furniture, decor items or trim paint
colors.
“By incorporating vibrant, attention-grabbing blues in the home, consumers
are sure to feel a sense of hope and enthusiastic optimism, resembling that of a
horizon or endless waves in the ocean,”
Yeomans explained.
The Glidden paint brand offers a rich
tradition of innovation and color inspiration, having consistently embodied quality and performance for generations of
customers. From the first latex paints developed and marketed under the Glidden
brand decades ago to today’s broad assortment of versatile paints, Glidden
paint makes it easy for consumers and
paint contractors to turn inspiration into
action and add color to people’s lives.
