PPG Industries’ protective and marine coatings business has unveiled
NOVAGUARD 810 tank storage coating,
which provides outstanding resistance to
a wide range of chemical and oil products.
The solvent-free coating minimizes application hazards and is equally suited to
the lining of new tanks and the refurbish-ment of existing ones. Rapid curing properties enable a fast return to service after
painting, and a smooth, light-colored finish enables easy cleaning and inspection.
A single coat of the NOVAGUARD 810
product typically provides the protection
required for storage tanks holding crude
oil, petroleum products, solvents and various chemicals. Crude oil can be stored at
temperatures up to 90 C (194 F), and the
coating cures at temperatures as low as 0
C ( 32 F) with an extended recoat window.
“The storage of crude oil and refined
products are some of the most demand-
ing applications for petrochemical tank
linings,” said Jake Ojeda, PPG global seg-
ment manager, petrochemical. “Storage
tanks need a coating that provides out-
standing resistance to a wide range of
oils, chemicals, solvents and refined prod-
ucts, but is easy to apply as well as cost-
effective. NOVAGUARD 810 tank lining
answers these needs in a product that is
also solvent-free, which minimizes haz-
ards for personnel.”
NOVAGUARD 810 coating is suitable
for tanks holding crude oil, aliphatic hy-
drocarbon, refined petroleum products,
heavy fuel oil, unleaded gasoline, xylene
and higher aromatics, oxygenated fuel
and caustic soda. It can be applied in one
coat with a total dry-film thickness of
as little as 300 microns ( 12 mils), and it
meets the EI 1541 performance standards
for protective coating systems used in avi-
ation fuel storage tanks and piping.

Launches GRAB-N-GO Pre-
Mixed Paint at WALMART
The new GLIDDEN GRAB-N-GO paint
collection has launched exclusively at
Walmart stores, enabling customers to
skip the paint counter line and grab pre-

Fastener Adhesives
Tectorius, a global manufacturer of adhesives, coatings and lubricants, has
introduced a new line of cost saving pre-applied fastener adhesives.
Since the introduction of pre-applied
fastener adhesives, consumers of these
highly specialized products had to choose
between the costly transport of hazardous, solvent based products or water-based, slower output formulas.
Tectorius P-80G and P-85G (concen-
trated Global grade) can be shipped as
non-hazardous, non-flammable, solvent
based liquid. When ready for use, these
concentrated materials are diluted with
common, standard grade solvent in a
3:2 ratio by volume, with no compro-
mise in processing speed. The end prod-
ucts are direct replacements for many
popular market grades offering up to
70% off freight costs by transporting
smaller volumes and weights as a non-
hazardous class, not available with oth-
er brands.
