Clean stacking: Westfalia Deam Systems announces a newly designed Case Palletizing
System. Constructed of all-stainless-steel materials, the new palletizer is able to handle both
plastic and wood pallets. The unit is capable of palletizing two full pallets per minute—each
pallet holding nine stacks of cases stacked six high ( 54 cases per pallet). The Case Palletizing
System is suited to the washdown environments found in the dairy and beverage industries.
For the first time, Westfalia has constructed stainless steel empty pallet dispensers for these
systems. The empty pallet handling section of the system includes the pallet dispenser and an
empty pallet pusher to transfer the pallet into the stack loading zone under the stack transfer plate (palletizing area).
The system is safety protected by a surround safety fence with light curtains on stack and
pallet entry points as well as the full pallet discharge. (Westfalia Deam Systems,

Making your mark: Weber Marking Systems has introduced Legitronic v. 3. 6. 4, the latest
version of its Legitronic labeling software. Designed for high-speed 32- and 64-bit operating
systems, including Windows 7 and Vista, the new version offers label design and printing
functionality as well as RFID label encoding capabilities.
The new software combines advanced editing and other key features to maximize the efficiency of label formatting, editing, printing, and RFID encoding for virtually any application.
To facilitate compliance with the RFID requirements of various retailers and government agencies, Legitronic 3. 6. 4 supports the encoding of EPC-compatible RFID labels to meet Gen 2
specifications.
Labels can be created from a selection of built-in features, including a variety of bar-code
symbologies. Handy pull-down menus streamline formatting to a single screen. (Weber

Small parts are expensive. Traditional
shelving eats up valuable floor space
and exposes parts. What’s more, parts
can be tough to find and reach; keeping
accurate inventories a challenge.
The Lauyans Small Parts Storage

Curves ahead: Interroll’s new American
Style Curve provides an economical,
rugged conveying solution for handling
parcels as well as airline baggage. The
American Style Curve features a positive
chain drive that eliminates the chance of
belt slippage common to friction-driven
curves. The positive-drive curve enables
conveying speeds of up to 350 feet per
minute and load-bearing capacity of 50
pounds per linear foot. Noise emission
levels of less than 71dBA can be expected during operation.
The American Style Curve features a removable unitized steel slider bed cassette as well as
a Clipper brand non-unibar laced belt connection. (Interroll, www.interroll.us)

Know when to fold ’em: When shipping parts, manufacturers often end up wasting money
sending empty containers back to suppliers. Once the containers are returned to the warehouse, they take up valuable storage space, further contributing to costs.
The Hold’n Fold Industrial Storage Container from Steel King addresses these issues. The
container collapses to one-third of its original size when empty, requiring a fraction of the
shipping and storage space needed by standard containers and dramatically cutting costs.
When the container is needed, a worker simply lifts the unit’s sides into position. The sides
lock in place automatically, and the unit is ready to fill.
The Hold’n Fold is also securely stackable. When folded, these containers can be safely
stacked to the ceiling of 24-foot high storage areas, maximizing vertical storage space when not
in use. A 5-gauge socket with stacking plug keeps them locked together so they don’t slide
around. Because the containers self-lock when folded, there’s no need for the costly banding
that’s often required of collapsible wire containers to keep them from tipping when stacked.
To optimize operational efficiency, the Hold’n Fold collapsible storage container can be customized to suit specific material handling and operational needs. Optional skid bars, fork stirrups, and fork tubes can enhance container loading, stacking, and maneuverability. (Steel
