; Mountain Gear Inc., a specialty retailer
of outdoor equipment, clothing, and
accessories, has promoted Ben Albrecht to
vice president of operations. Albrecht,
who formerly served as manager of operations, joined Mountain Gear in 2006 and
has been instrumental in boosting the efficiency of the company’s warehouse and customer service
operations.

; The National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors
(NAW) has elected new officers. Dennis Hatchell of Alex
Lee Inc. is the new chairman. He succeeds Robert Taylor of
Do It Best Corp., who remains on the board as immediate
past chairman. Other new officers include Mark Kramer
of Laird Plastics (chairman-elect); Roy Vallee of Avnet Inc.
(first vice chairman); Patrick Larmon of Bunzl Distribution
USA (second vice chairman); and Dan Blaylock of Adams-Burch Inc. (secretary).
; Ed Romaine has been named chief marketing officer for Sapient Automation.
Sapient provides automated storage and
retrieval systems, including carousels and
vertical lift modules.

; Greatwide Logistics Services has hired Andrew Johnson
as vice president of Gallop Logistics, a Greatwide subsidiary based in Toronto, Ontario. Johnson, who has more
than 32 years of transportation and produce industry
experience, served most recently as business development
and sales manager for NACC Transport in Ontario.
; Fernando Viscarra has joined Reddwerks Corp. as vice
president, national accounts. Viscarra comes to
Reddwerks, a developer of warehouse management and
control systems, from CVM Solutions, where he was corporate director of business development.
; Jaguar Freight Services Ltd., an international freight
forwarder, has promoted Marc Selter to vice president of
strategy and transformation. Selter previously served as
Jaguar’s director of U.S. operations.
; Mark McCallister has joined supply chain consulting
firm Tompkins Associates as vice president of supply chain
services. McCallister most recently served as director of
strategic planning and engineering at Starbucks Coffee,
where he was responsible for developing its North
American supply chain strategy.
