; Good Sports. TranSystems has completed a retrofit of
the Sport Supply Group’s DC in Farmers Branch, Texas. The
project included the installation of a new pick module and
a three-tier pack system on a new shipping mezzanine.
; Auto pilot. Americold has contracted with viastore systems to automate its newly expanded Indianapolis facility. The solution that viastore designed includes a 110-
foot-tall rack-supported building, a pallet-handling automated storage and retrieval system, and a pallet conveyor system.
; Fresh start. Paramount Export Co., an Oakland, Calif.-based exporter of fresh fruits and vegetables, has selected Damco to provide refrigerated ocean logistics services.
Damco will perform tasks like forwarding, consolidation,
and document management for its new client.
; Cat call. I.D. Systems has announced that Caterpillar Inc.
will deploy its PowerFleet wireless Vehicle Management
System (VMS) on the industrial trucks at three of its U.S.
manufacturing plants. The deal was completed through
Wiese USA, a marketing partner of I.D. Systems.
; Raising its voice. Tecsys Inc., a supply chain management software company, is adding topVox’s solutions to
its warehouse management and warehouse automation
offerings. TopVox manufactures voice systems for use in
warehousing, distribution, and manufacturing facilities.
; Open for business. Averitt Express, a freight transportation and supply chain management service provider,
has selected E2open to help it implement the Oracle
Transportation Management (OTM) system. E2open says
its service will allow Averitt’s customers to be efficiently
on-boarded and supported at a predictable cost.
; Wise solution. CargoWise, a technology supplier for
logistics service providers, has completed an ediEnterprise
system implementation for BNSF Logistics. The 3PL
installed the comprehensive single-platform ERP accounting, logistics, and customs brokerage solution to support
future growth.
; Plan for success. Northeast-based trucking company
and logistics service specialist A. Duie Pyle has selected
Descartes’ Area Planner and Route Planner to integrate
planning, routing, and dispatch activities for its less-than-truckload (LTL) operations. The solution is designed to
optimize pickup and delivery.
