Yung Chi Paint & Varnish Manufacturing Co., Ltd. manu- factures architectural coatings, heavy-duty coatings, marine paints, coil coatings, can coatings, nuclear coatings and curtain wall coatings primarily in Taiwan. The firm also manufactures and sells fire-retardant and fire protection coatings. In 2009, the company’s Malaysia Melaka factory started production for coil coatings. The company was founded in 1951 and is headquartered in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan and recorded sales of $215 mn in 2012 and has approximately 600 employees. In the architectural segment the company provides solvent-based acrylic paints, water-based cement mortar paints, dirt off exterior acrylic emulsion paints, water-based elastomeric paints, and water-based epoxy topcoats. Heavy-duty coatings include epoxy paints, ready-mixed paints, top-long paints and polyurethane paints.

Taiho Paint (China) includes Taiho Paint (Dongguan), Taiho Paint (Shanghai), Taiho Paint (Japan) and Taiho Paint (Taiwan). Together these operations generated revenue $210.666 mn in 2012. The largest of these operations is in Dongguan, which also serves as the company’s headquarters and employs 1,132 people. Shanghai employs 218, Japan 60 and Taiwan 30. General industrial and industrial maintenance, including wood coatings, make up 73 percent of revenue while the remaining 27 percent is attributed to architectural and decorative coatings sales. In 2011 Taiho Paint (Dongguan) invested approximately $2 million to expand production capacity by 50,000 tons. After implementation of the this increase, total production capacity for all of Taiho Paint’s operations is expected to grow past 200,000 tons per year.

The company offers ceramics, building materials, paints and crushed natural decorative material sheets. In addition, it involves in the manufacture and sale of machinery and equipment. The company was founded in 1959 and is headquartered in Nagoya, Japan. Under the slogan, “Work in Harmony with Nature, Work for the Benefit of People,” Kikusui manufactures water-based and organic-solvent-free architectural paints and uses its own methods to minimize drainage and waste generated during the production process. In addition, the company deals with natural paints from Germany and allergy-free paints from Sweden.
