laboratory in Dubai
BYK additives & Instruments has
opened a new lab in Dubai, the commercial metropolis of the Arab Gulf
states and one of the fastest growing regions in the world.
With the lab opening in Dubai, BYK
Additives & Instruments has laid the
foundations for providing local support
for its Middle East customers in their
search for innovative solutions for the
paint and plastics industry.
Dr. Zakir Hussain Ansari is the head of
the new laboratory. With years of experience in the coatings industry he can now
attend directly on the spot to any technical questions that arise.

The new laboratory is accommodated
in Dubai’s ultramodern Biotechnology &
Research Park called Dubiotech.

Wacker expands its Korea
Technical Center and opens
new silicones and polymers
training facility
Wacker has completed the expansion and
relocation of its technical laboratories and
offices in South Korea, and inaugurated
the upgraded technical center, with inte-
grated training facility, near the capital
Seoul. The regional competence center
now houses under a single roof both re-
search and development (R&D), applica-
tions technology, and a facility for basic
and advanced training in silicones and
polymers applications. A new silicone lab-
oratory has been built to research, in par-
ticular, high-tech products for the
electronics industry, while the technical
center for polymeric binders will concen-
trate primarily on applications for con-
struction chemicals. The integrated
Wacker Academy training facility will ad-
ditionally offer a platform for market -
specific networking among customers, dis-
tribution partners and Wacker specialists.
