Hoffmann Mineral GmbH is showing its new calcined product,
Silfit and Aktifit, based on their standard grades Sillitin, Sillikol-
loid and Aktisil. These calcined products have very good results
in partial replacement of TiO2 in applications such as coil coat-
ings and powder coatings. New product Aktisil WW can be used
in applications in water-based wood clearcoat as a matting agent
and replacement of common binders. Advantages are improve-
ment, in particular, regarding initial water and stain resistance.

EMI mills and mixers are used for wet milling, fine grinding and
dispersion or liquid and paste products. Both laboratory and production mills, mixers and dispersers are available. Products to be
ground or dispersed are pumped through an agitated bed of
grinding beads, which provide intense shear and impact forces
for particle or agglomerate reduction. Research and development
mills are available to produce samples as small as 25 mils. as are
various size pilot and production mills to produce larger volumes. EMI also offers laboratory mixers, high shear dispersers
and rotor sator mixers. Demonstration units and in-house laboratory testing are also available.
