Jotun Korea wins contract to
supply paint to oil giant BP’s
latest North Sea project
Korea-based Chokwang Jotun has won a
contract to supply paint to Quad 204,
petrol giant BP’s newest North Sea project.
The new floating production, storage and
offloading unit (FPSO) will replace the existing Schiehallion FPSO, producing from the
Schiehallion and Loyal fields located in deep
water west of the Shetland Islands in the
North Sea. FPSOs are floating vessels used
by the offshore industry for the processing
of hydrocarbons and for storage of oil.
To be built by Hyundai Heavy Indus-
tries Co. (HHI) of Korea, the Quad 204
FPSO will be delivered in early 2015. HHI
will conduct all of the project work cover-
ing engineering, procurement and con-
struction with an option for transportation
and commissioning assistance.
