Biocoat adds three successors
to its HydroSleek hydrophilic
coatings for medical devices
Biocoat, Inc., maker of lubricious Hydak
hydrophilic coatings introduced three new
hydrophilic coatings for medical devices
to its lineup. HydroSleek2 is the new successor to the original HydroSleek lubricious coating, with improved processing
and biocompatibility. The HydroSleek Kit
is another variation on the HydroSleek
coating, which allows the product to be
stored and transported under a wider
array of conditions. The Hydak T-040 Kit
is a remake of Hydak L-110, also allowing for wider availability to Asian and European markets. All of these coatings are
based on high molecular weight
hyaluronic acid (HA). This technology has
applications among a range of fields including ophthalmology, urology, cardiology, endoscopy, and neurovascular.
HydroSleek coatings have overcome the
trade off between lubricity and durability
seen in cross-linked coatings. Additionally,
HydroSleek involves a heat-cure process
so both ID and OD may be coated without the concerns surrounding UV curing.

Architectural Color Collection
The Architectural Color Collection from
Sto Corp. is a selection of 300 new colors
with a timeless architectural feel. Developed specifically for facades, this palette
features a range of warm hues, carefully
selected to relate to specific coatings and
wall systems. The coordinated color families and formulations were designed to be
very functional in providing added technical enhancements to the StoColor System,
as well as complimenting those warmer
shades of the StoColor System fan-deck.
This new addition supplements the company’s already extensive color offering,
bringing the total of standard colors from
Sto to 1100. The new collection features:
300 natural colors; integration of six
shades of white; three grey scales with 21
carefully matched shades; some of today’s

Decorative Flooring Systems
Dur-A-Flex, Inc., a manufacturer of com-

duced Mica-Flex E and Mica-
Flex M, as the newest in their
lineup of decorative flooring sys-
tems. The new Mica-Flex systems utilize
Dur-A-Flex’s proven epoxy and methyl
methacrylate (MMA) resins in combina-
tion with the unique look of natural mica
flakes. Mica-Flex E is a one-sixteenth-inch
epoxy-based broadcast system finished
with Dur-A-Flex’s hard-wearing Armor
Top urethane topcoat. Mica-Flex M is a
one-sixteenth-inch all MMA broadcast
system. With a natural, metallic luster, the
Mica-Flake systems UV stability ensures
consistent color for the life of the floor.
Both systems are available in six standard
colors and three blends of micro and
macro sizes.

protective coatings
Industrial Nanotech, Inc., has launched a
new product in their industrial line, Nansulate Diamond. The product is a fast-cure
high heat industrial insulation and corrosion prevention coating that provides energy savings and personnel protection for
equipment surfaces up to 400 degrees
Farenheit. The product offers thermal insulation, energy savings, corrosion prevention, and resistance to moisture and
weathering and offers a faster curing time
and non-slip surface the company said. It
has also proven successful in trials on industrial equipment with a major international automotive manufacturer said the
