Flügger Group is one of Scandinavia’s largest suppliers of dec- orative paint, wood stain, wallcoverings, paint tools and cleaning articles. Flügger Group is represented by Flügger
shops in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Poland and China.
There are more than 500 Flügger shops, of which more than 200
are owned by the company. Apart from this, its subsidiary DAY-system contributes with sales from 214 shops in Denmark, Norway and Sweden. The other daughter company, PP Mester Maling,
has 41 shops in Denmark. The company has five factories, and the
two main ones are in Kolding, Denmark and in Bollebygd, Sweden. Here Flugger produces paint, wood stain, fillers and chemical
products. In Kolding it produces water-based paint, and it comes
to an amount of 20 million liters per year. In Bollebygd Flugger
produces around 24 million liters of both water-based and tur-pentine-based paint per year. With origins that date back to 1785,
Flugger Group generated sales of $284 million in 2011.

JW Ostendorf GmbH & Co. KG (JWO) has been producing paints, varnishes, lacquers and enamels since 1948 for a va- riety of applications and recorded sales in 2011 of approximately $265 million. It has its affiliates in Great Britain,
Poland, Austria, Czech Republic, Switzerland, France and Hungary. It has a production capacity of more than 400 million
liters per annum and a staff of over 600 in both Germany and
abroad. It operates an integrated production and logistics facility at its headquarters in Coesfeld where it produces paints,
trim and stains in one of Europe’s most modern paint factories.
During the year JWO spun-off of its successful Signeo brand
business into a separate company within the JWO group. The
company also says it is the first and only paint manufacturer in
Europe to be qualified by LGA in line with hygiene standards
for the foodstuffs industry.
Yung Chi Paint & Varnish Manufacturing Co., Ltd. manufactures architecural coatings, heavyduty coat- ings, marine paints, coilcoatings, can coatings, nuclear
coatings and curtain wall coatings primarily in Taiwan. The
firm also manufactures and sells fire-retardant and fire protection coatings. In 2009, the company’s Malaysia Melaka
factory started production for coil coatings. The company was
founded in 1951 and is headquartered in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan and recorded sales of more than $260 million in 2011. In
the architectural segment the company provides solvent-based
acrylic paints, water-based cement mortar paints, dirt off exterior acrylic emulsion paints, water-based elastomeric paints,
and water-based epoxy topcoats. Heavy duty coatings include
epoxy paints, ready-mixed paints, top-long paints and
polyurethane paints.
