DuPont names new powder coatings
North America sales manager
DuPont Industrial Coating Solutions has
named Ronald Hull the new powder coatings North America sales manager. Hull is
currently the global business manager, advanced interlayers, DuPont Packaging and
Industrial Polymers. He has been a part of
the DuPont organization for 21 years,
holding numerous
management positions in sales, marketing, product
development, operations, engineering
and Six Sigma. In his
new role, he will
manage the powder
and industrial e-coat sales activities in the
U.S. and Canada. Hull will relocate to the
Houston area and report to David
Lazzeri, North American powder coatings
business director.

Tyrrell appointed RLP product
line manager for CVC
Thermoset Specialties
CVC Thermoset Specialties has appointed
Jeffrey Tyrrell product manager for its reactive liquid polymers (RLPs). In this role,
Tyrrell will be responsible for providing
strategic, operational
and technical direction to drive the
growth of the RLP
product line globally.
Prior to joining CVC,
Tyrrell held various
commercial, technical
and operations management positions at
Air Products, Cytec,
Elementis and Praxair. Most recently at Illinois Tool Works, a company serving the
semiconductor and disk drive industry,
Tyrrell served as general manager. At these
companies, Tyrrell was responsible for marketing and product line management of a
broad range of specialty chemicals, pre-poly-mers, rubber and resins in industrial appli-
cations, such as coatings, adhesives, sealants
and electronics.
Superior Materials
expands its sales force.
Established in 1946 and with headquarters
in Garden City, NY, Superior Materials, Inc.,
is a specialty chemical distributor/agent celebrating its 66th year representing leading
manufacturers. The company recently
added two new employees to its sales and
marketing team. Sheila McCarthy has
joined Superior Materials in the role of New
England account specialist and offers expertise in the pigments and plastics area
having worked for pigment and plastic companies as well as in distribution. McCarthy
is responsible for the New England territory
and will concentrate in the plastics, paint
and coatings, ink, adhesive and personal
care markets. Bruce Fox has joined Superior
Materials in the role of marketing manager
for the personal care market. He brings extensive experience in the sale and marketing
of additives, actives and pigments into the
personal care and food industries. Fox’s career has been spent working with manufacturers as well distribution. He will be
covering the entire Superior Materials territory—mid-Atlantic thru New England
states—in this role and will take the lead for
growth in this segment.
Archway Sales adds to its team
Archway Sales, Inc. has hired Jim Payton as
a technical sales representative for the
southern U.S. region. Payton has more than
26 year’s experience in sales. In his new position, he will be responsible for growing
sales in Texas. The company also welcomes
Shane Leatherman in who joins Archway in
Cincinnati as a warehouseman and will report to Matt Ahlers. Cathy Clark joined
Archway Sales, Inc. as a principal manager
administrator. She brings over 13 years of
industry experience. Josh Foldenauer joined
Archway Sales, Inc. as the Memphis site
manager. He brings over 10 years’ of customer service and management experience.
KAPCO hires senior chemist
and new product development
manager
KAPCO (Kent Adhesive Products Co.) has
appointed Suresh Murugesan senior
chemist and new product development
manager. He brings 15 years of extensive
education and research experience with
water-based, UV curable ink, binder, topcoat formulations and digital ink dispersions combined with
polymeric materials
for various novel applications to his position. Murugesan has
extensively researched
synthesis, characterization, modifications
and improvements of
polymers, lyotropic
liquid crystalline behaviors of synthesized polyamides and Sol-gel synthesis of various inorganic particles
in poly(dimethyl siloxane) networks
(PDMS). Additionally he contributed to the
patent of a novel chemical actuator design
invented and fabricated for a wristwatch-type MEMS sensor device. Murugesan’s
work specialized in the material selection,
surface modification and characterization.
The group’s findings were published and
also nominated for best poster.

Specialty Chemicals’ president
and CEO
Quest Specialty Chemicals, a portfolio
company of Audax Group and Moelis
Capital Partners, has appointed Doug
Mattscheck president and CEO, effective
May 29th. Mattscheck has extensive experience and a proven track record of growing companies through acquisitions and
improving operations in the specialty coatings and building materials industries. He
was most recently the president and chief
executive of AGY, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of specialty glass fiber
