Teknos Group Oy is the leading supplier of industrial coat- ings in Scandinavia with a strong position in retail and ar- chitectural coatings too. Teknos is one of Finland’s largest
family-owned businesses. Group companies operate in Scandinavia,
Germany, the United Kingdom, Poland, Slovenia and Russia, and
through a well-established network of agents and representatives in
about twenty other European countries. In 2011, Teknos started
local production of paints in China in Changzhou, in cooperation
with a local partner. Also in 2011, Teknos opened a new sales office in Vietnam. The main client base for Teknos in Vietnam is local
manufacturers of wood products for industry, such as joinery companies and furniture manufacturers. In Russia, the sales of joint
venture Teknos Deko continued to grow and also saw a growth in
market share. 2011 also saw the start-up of the new IFS ERP system that was deployed in Finland at the start of the year.

As China’s coatings market continues to expand rapidly, domestic paint manufacturers like Carpoly Chemical Group are gaining more exposure on the world stage.
Carpoly Group, founded in 1993, is today China’s largest domestic coatings manufacturer with sales of $325 million in 2011.
The Carpoly Group operates four regional companies in Guangdong, Sichuan, Shanghai and Hebei provinces. Architectural sales,
including decorative wood coatings, accounted for 53 percent of
revenue. Sales of furniture paint in the industrial segment accounted for 45 percent of sales. Despite the challenging economic
environment, Carpoly maintained a double digital growth rate of
13 percent in 2011. In addition, Carpoly celebrated during the
year the the national accreditation of its Technology Center. Also,
Carpoly’s Shanghai factory was successfully put into production,
